Chasing trends don’t make you a good marketer.
If you’re just starting out as social media or digital marketer, I know how it feels: excited to learn… but overwhelmed.
But let me tell you.
You’re overwhelmed because you’re trying to learn everything… all at once.
Ang daming advice online like “you need to do/learn this” and “this is the latest trend and strategy.”
Ang ending?
Hindi ka pa nagsisimula, pagod na isip mo kung ano bang dapat mong unahin.
Well in my opinion, you don’t need to master every tool. You don’t need to know every trends.
As a marketer, I’m not really a fan of chasing every trend or every new tool.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t adapt.
Adapting is important. Tools are helpful.
Trends can work.
But I focus on the foundation first.
Understanding people.
Because at the end of the day, marketing is not just about learning tools or apply every trend you see online.
It’s about:
•knowing your audience
•saying the right message
•and guiding them to customer journey
Simple—but not easy.
And here’s why this matters first:
Because tools will always change.
Platforms will always update.
Trends will always come and go.
But people? Their fears, desires, and decisions, stay the same.
If you understand people, you can write better, sell better, and connect better kahit anong platform pa yan.
At kahit anong tool gamitin mo, or kahit anong platform gamit mo, you’ll know what to say and how to make it work.
So instead of chasing every new tool or trend…
Build the one skill that will stay with you:
Learn the foundation first.
Everything else becomes easier after that.
Ayun lang. 🫶
