The Alcantara Group (AG) Launches "Linking Hands" Employee Volunteerism Program

On July 1, 2024, the Alcantara Group (AG) launched its "Linking Hands" Employee Volunteerism Program through its community development arm, the Alcantara Foundation. This initiative is designed to foster a culture of volunteerism within Alcantara Group by empowering employees to actively contribute to community development and social impact.

Kamanga Agro-Industrial Ecozone Development Corporation (KAIEDC) participated in the Brigada Eskwela ’24 Kick-off on July 22, 2024 and provided 100 pieces of Monobloc chairs to Changco Elementary School of Barangay Siguel, General Santos City.
Sarangani Energy Corporation (SEC), a locator of KAIEDC and Siguil Hydro Power Corporation (SHPC) also took part in the activity and provided the school with buckets of paint and plywood.

Hon. Jerry M. Jugarap, Barangay Captain of Brgy. Siguel, and representatives from the Department of Education (DepEd), headed by Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) Isagani S. Dela Cruz and Asst. Schools Division Superintendent (ASDS) Mervie Y. Seblos, were also present at the event. KAIEDC was represented by its Estate Group headed by Mr. Neil P. Cachuela.

Currently, Changco Elementary School has 513 enrolled students and 19 teachers & school personnel, led by the School Principal, Mr. Reagan P. Paraguas.

This initiative forms part of the Alcantara Group’s Linking Hands Brigada Eskwela campaign, which will be carried out by all Alcantara Group subsidiaries based from all over the country from July 22 to July 26, 2024.

The Kamanga Agro-Industrial Ecozone Development Corporation (KAIEDC), together with Gridlines MGS Construction and Project Management Inc. (GMCPMI) and PHSMB Construction and Supply, held its Groundbreaking Ceremony for the KAIEDC Estate Administration Building on April 22, 2024 at the Kamanga Agro-industrial Economic Zone (KAIEZ), Brgy. Kamanga, Maasim, Sarangani.

Alsons Land Corporation (ALC) officers, Vice President and General Manager, Anton M. Hechanova and Assistant Vice President, William M. Tepora, as well as KAIEDC Estate Manager, Neil P. Cachuela, expressed their gratitude to the guests for attending and welcomed them to the ceremony. They stated that with the rise of the Estate Administration Building, this groundbreaking ceremony signifies a new beginning in the company’s initiatives to maintain the development and operation of the ecozone, as well as to grow and draw more locators to Maasim.

Maasim Municipal Mayor Zyrex C. Pacquiao and Municipal Administrator Anecito Lopez III also graced the occasion.

Also in attendance to the ceremony were Mr. Arnel M. Suyu, Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Zone Manager, as well as officers from the GMCPMI, Ar. Chief Operations Officer (COO) Laida S. Chavez, Principal Marcelina G. Supsup, and Structural Engineer Eric Salvadora, together with representatives from PHSMB Construction and Supply, including Owner Delfin B. Miones, General Project Manager Jeshurun James Babiera, and Project Engineer Leoven Ituriaga.

The two-storey KAIEDC Estate Administration Building will be completed by end of 1Q 2025.

Tinoto, Maasim in Sarangani Province last September 1, 2023. SEC wanted to focus on essential healthcare services as part of its steadfast commitment to making a positive impact in the community through health. The activity encompasses a wide range of services which was facilitated by doctors, nurses, and other medical staff from the Municipal Health Office (MHO) and Barangay Health Workers (BHW).
