📌Many new lot owners ask why their Transfer Certificate of Title (TCT) has blank portions in the section for Case No., Original Registration Date, Decree No., Original Owner, etc.
👉 This is completely normal.
🔹 OCT vs TCT
The OCT (Original Certificate of Title) is the very first title issued for a property. It contains the complete details such as Case No., Decree No., Original Owner, and Registration Date.
The TCT is a transfer title. When land is sold, donated, or inherited, the previous OCT/TCT is cancelled and a new TCT is issued to the new owner.
🔹 Why are there blanks?
Original details are not repeated in the TCT.
Its main purpose is to show the current owner and the cancelled previous title number, not the entire land history.
🔹 Want to see the full history?
You can request a Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Original Title from the Registry of Deeds.
✅ In short: Nothing is missing — blank fields are normal because a TCT is a transfer title, not the original.
