For seven decades, D.M. Consunji, Inc. (DMCI) has shaped the Philippine landscape with a singular mission—to build with purpose, precision, and heart. During the global construction boom of the 1970s and 1980s, the company earned an international reputation for delivering complex, world-class projects. Among its most notable overseas accomplishments are Brunei’s Istana Nurul Iman Palace, the official residence of the Sultan of Brunei; key bridges along the Zalim–Halban Highway in Saudi Arabia; the King Faisal Motorway in Kuwait; and Iraq’s Kirkuk–Adhaim Irrigation Project, a vital water infrastructure system. DMCI also contributed to Dubai’s Monorail system, including the Atlantis, Village Center, and Trump Tower stations, as well as the fabrication of the monorail’s precast guide beams. These projects did more than demonstrate DMCI’s technical prowess—they showcased the talent, discipline, and craftsmanship of Filipino builders on the world stage.
In the Philippines, the DMCI mark can be seen almost everywhere—in cities, provinces, and regions across the Philippines—in the form of industrial plants, skyscrapers, tollways, bridges, and essential infrastructure that keeps the country moving forward. The company’s legacy includes some of the nation's most iconic structures: the UP Parish of the Holy Sacrifice in Diliman; the old Rizal Theater, now the site of Makati Shangri-La; the Folk Arts Theater (now Tanghalang Francisco Balagtas); the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway; the Cultural Center of the Philippines; the Philippine International Convention Center; The Manila Hotel; Solaire Casino & Hotel; Shangri-La Boracay; Rockwell Towers; NAIA Expressway; Skyway Stage 3; and a long list of expressways, bridges, buildings, water and waste water treatment plants, power plants and civic landmarks.
DMCI’s strength as a builder is matched by its commitment to environmental stewardship, safety, good governance, and sustainability. It is the first construction company in the Philippines to earn a Quadruple A contractor accreditation, reflecting its consistency in delivering quality projects that meet stringent government standards.
This commitment reaches the global stage as well. As Chair of the Philippine Overseas Construction Board (POCB), Engr. Isidro A. Consunji, Chairman of DMCI, has been instrumental in promoting Philippine construction expertise abroad. Through international missions, capability-building programs, scholarships, professorial chairs, and facility upgrades, DMCI continues to prepare the next generation of Filipino engineers, ensuring that the nation’s excellence in construction resonates around the world.
