Saw the news about the NAIA Terminal 3 land acquisition.
I recently picked up a family member at Terminal 3 and, to be fair, there have been noticeable improvements.
Is it Dubai? No.
Is it Singapore? No.
But it’s definitely better than before. 😄
One thing that would help even more is keeping walkways clear. Many people waiting for loved ones tend to gather near exits and pathways, making it harder for arriving passengers to move around.
Airport improvements aren’t just about infrastructure. A little discipline from all of us goes a long way too.
MIAA ACQUIRES NAIA TERMINAL 3 PROPERTY FOR P48 BILLION
The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) on Thursday, June 11, acquires the 61-hectare property of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) where Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 stands for P48 billion, paving the way for the airport’s long-term modernization and expansion.
The ceremonial agreement signed on June 11, 2026, between BCDA and MIAA transfers ownership of one of the country’s most strategically important government properties and marks the culmination of years of negotiations between the two agencies.
Under the agreement, MIAA will pay BCDA P48 billion, including an initial P10-billion down payment, with the remaining balance to be settled through semiannual installments over 15 years. The transaction is expected to bolster the government's capacity to invest in critical infrastructure while enabling MIAA to undertake long-term improvements aimed at enhancing passenger experience, operational efficiency, and airport capacity at the country's premier international gateway.
MIAA General Manager Eric Jose C. Ines described the acquisition as a strategic investment that strengthens the agency's stewardship of one of the country's most important aviation assets.
“By securing ownership of the Terminal 3 property, MIAA strengthens its stewardship of a strategic government asset and reinforces its ability to support the long-term development of the country's premier gateway. This acquisition provides greater certainty for long-term planning, sound asset management, and the continued advancement of Philippine aviation,” Ines said.
Ines also noted that the successful implementation of the NAIA public-private partnership project marks a new chapter for MIAA. | via Rudy Santos
