Lanang District is entering a new phase as Ayala Land prepares to build Ayala Malls at Azuela Cove within the 25-hectare waterfront estate, marking the company’s second major mall development in the city alongside Abreeza. Since its launch in 2017, Azuela Cove has grown into one of Davao’s leading seaside lifestyle destinations, known for its promenade, wellness events, and the outdoor retail environment of Azuela High Street. The estate’s mix of restaurants, parks and fitness areas continues to draw strong foot traffic from residents and visitors who frequent its sunrise yoga sessions, community gatherings and daily recreation spaces.
Ayala Land and the Alcantara Group are moving forward with plans for the future mall as demand increases for accessible public spaces and integrated retail communities. The upcoming three-level development will connect seamlessly with Azuela High Street and enhance the estate’s growing dining and shopping offerings. It is designed to complement the coastal setting and support Azuela Cove’s vision of a walkable district where recreation, retail and daily living come together.
Set along the Davao Gulf, the planned mall features a modern and streamlined architectural form that reflects its waterfront location. The structure is composed of clean horizontal volumes and wide glass openings that frame outdoor views and bring natural light into the interior spaces. Its soft beige exterior creates a warm and contemporary look that complements the estate’s open spaces and greenery. Landscaped edges and outdoor terraces help connect the building to the sea breeze and promenade, reinforcing Azuela Cove’s vision for a retail district that blends indoor activity with fresh air and coastal scenery.
The project follows the continued performance of Ayala Malls Abreeza, the developer’s first mall in Davao City, which remains a central shopping and lifestyle destination since opening in 2011. Together, Abreeza and the planned Azuela Cove mall reflect Ayala’s long-term confidence in Davao’s retail market and the city’s rising demand for contemporary, people-centered environments.
