Bakit kaya mas madali sa atin
ang bumili ng cosmetics, gumastos ng pang-pa-facial,
mag-shopping ng mga bagong damit pamporma
at iba’t ibang klaseng kolorete sa katawan?

Don’t get me wrong. Hindi sa sinasabi ko na mali
ang mag-invest sa physical appearance at iba pang self-care.
The one question we must ask before investing to these is…
“Nakapag-ipon na ba ako sa bangko?”

The absolute worst way to make our wallet bankrupt
ay ang mapagastos nang naaayon sa uso at hype.
There’s nothing wrong in making ourselves look presentable.
Pero sabi nga nila, lahat din ng sobra ay masama.

When we realize we are in this kind of situation,
here’s what we can do to invest and save more:

KUNG HINDI NAMAN NECESSITY, HUWAG NA MUNANG BILHIN

Nowadays, madali tayong na e-enganyo
nang kung ano ang uso kahit hindi naman kailangan.
Madalas impluwensya sa social media o ng mga kaibigan.
Later on, hindi na natin namamalayan
na mas malaki na ang nagagastos natin kaysa sa savings.

If we see this as a threat to our financial management,
early on ay dapat i-avoid na natin o pigilan.
Ano ba ang mahalaga lang na bibilhin ngayon?
Marami pa namang stock ng cosmetics,
kailangan na ba ulit bumili nang additional?
Let’s check first kung kailangan na nga ba talaga
o bugso lang ng ating damdamin kasi maganda.

MAG-INVEST SA BANGKO HINDI LANG SA PANGLABAS NA ANYO

Investing more on physical appearance
rather than on bank sounds a bit costly.
Paano ko ba ito nasabi?
Kung i-calculate natin ang ating nagagastos
kahit sa simpleng pabalik-balik lang sa facial
o kaya naman ay sa beauty products na imported,
kapag ito’y naipon ay mas malaki pa siguro sa savings natin ngayon.
Aminin, mas malakas tayong gumastos kaysa sa mag-save.

Not that I’m saying na huwag na nating pangalagaan
ang sarili at beauty na meron tayo,
kundi ay mag-invest rin sa bangko para sa future plans natin.
Hindi lang naman ang kagandahan ang dapat pagtuunan ng pansin.
Dapat ay mindful din tayo sa pag-invest sa edukasyon,
negosyo, bahay at lupa, kotse, pagkakaibigan at pamilya.

BEAUTY FADES AS TIME GOES BY

Dahil ang kagandahan o panlabas na anyo ay nagbabago.
Sa madaling sabi pa nga ito ay “lumilipas”.
We may enjoy now ang pagpapaganda o pagpapapogi,
yung pagsusuot pa ng stylish at usong mga damit.
Yung feeling natin ang dami nating naitagong pera sa bangko.

If we continue to focus only on this aspect,
we may lose the others na mas higit dapat pagtuunan nang pansin,
importansya at atensyon. Because as we realize later on in life,
ang ating panlabas na kaanyuan ay temporary lamang.
