Day Twenty-Nine

Treasure My Words

Treasure My words. Adore My voice and embrace everything I say. Beg Me for more; earnestly seek it, and I will give it to you. The words I give you are for your good, that you may not stumble. Only by My words can you walk uprightly. Each of My words—My written words as well as those spoken by the voice of My Spirit—is a lamp to your feet.

I could never express to you enough the need for you to be more intimate with Me through My Spirit. He will justify you if you listen to Him and obey Him through faith. I have sent Him to you for this purpose. Do not neglect the gift that is in you. Embrace the deposit. Hold Him close and meditate on His presence through prayer and worship.

Scripture for Thought:

“Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.” (Exodus 19:5)

““Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name is in Him. But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.” (Exodus 23:20–22)

Day Twenty-Eight

Be My Friend—Obey Me.

Do you treasure My commands within you? Do you bind My words to the tablet of your heart? I do not call you to legalism, but I do command you to obey My Spirit. He will govern you and teach you every right path. He will show you My perfect and sound doctrine.

So embrace every word He gives you. Many confuse My commands with the Old Testament law, but My command comes to you softly through My Holy Spirit. This I call you to obey, and if you obey, you are My friend.

Now I will ask you, and you answer Me: How have you been sensitive to My voice and faithfully obeying it? Apply obedience from this day forward. Be fervent for it, and you will please Me perfectly.

“You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.” (John 15:14)

“You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.” (Deuteronomy 13:4)

Day Twenty-Seven

I Am Wisdom—Walk in Me

I am wisdom. Walk in Me, and I will illuminate your path. Embrace Me, and I will be a comfort to you. Pray for Me, and I will come to you.

Was I not pleased with Solomon when he prayed for wisdom? Go and pray likewise with a fervent heart. Seek My wisdom and step out in faith. Then My Holy Spirit will guide you to it. So be sensitive to His voice because everything He says is right, true, and wise.

Turn at My rebuke, and surely I will pour out My Spirit on you. I will make My words known to you and lead you in every upright path.

“My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;” (Proverbs 2:1–7)

“Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you. Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.” (Proverbs 4:5–7)
