| The Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Cebu welcomed Office of the Commissioner (OCOM) Deputy Chief of Staff George JT D. Aliño and Enforcement and Security Service (ESS) Acting Director Noel C. Estanislao during their official visit last August 5, 2026, primarily to conduct an ocular inspection of seized illicit ci******es under the custody of the Port.

District Collector Atty. Zsae Carrie C. De Guzman received Deputy Chief of Staff Aliño and Acting Director Estanislao, who inspected the seized goods and assessed the security measures currently in place. In response to the memorandum issued by Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, the visit focused on identifying additional safeguards that may be implemented to further secure the shipments and preserve the integrity of the seized goods while the corresponding legal proceedings remain pending.

During the inspection and subsequent discussions with Port officials and personnel, the visiting officials emphasized the importance of maintaining strict security and accountability over seized goods throughout the pendency of legal proceedings. Proposed measures centered on reinforcing existing controls and minimizing risks of unauthorized access, tampering, pilferage, or other circumstances that could compromise the custody and integrity of the shipments.

These efforts support Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno’s directive to intensify enforcement while upholding accountability and integrity in customs operations, ensuring that seized goods remain properly secured and accounted for throughout the disposition and legal process.
