The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) issued Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 089-2026 dated August 10, 2026, providing an extension of deadlines for the filing of tax returns, payment of corresponding taxes, and submission of required documents for taxpayers under Revenue District Offices (RDOs) affected by the continued heavy rainfall brought about by the Southwest Monsoon.

The extension covers statutory deadlines falling within the affected period, including certain:
๐น BIR return filing and payment
๐น Withholding tax returns
๐น VAT and percentage tax returns
๐น Excise tax returns
๐น Registration of books of accounts
๐น One-Time Transactions (ONETT)
๐น Tax Compliance Verification Drive/Tax Mapping requirements
๐น Other required submissions and payments covered by the Circular
๐ The extension applies to the affected RDOs and areas specifically identified by the BIR, including areas in Metro Manila and several provinces.
โ ๏ธ Important: The extension is applicable only to taxpayers covered by the affected areas/RDOs identified in RMC No. 089-2026.
