Bataan is looking at a game-changing possibility!
A major upgrade could be on the horizon for our province as we explore the possibility of bringing next-generation, eco-friendly marine technology right to our local waters.
Local Bataan officials, led by 2nd District Congressman Abet Garcia, recently met with representatives from Candela, a pioneering Swedish technology firm and global leader in sustainable marine transport. Also looking into this vision are BBJVI President Jopet Inton and Earth and Shore Leisure Communities Corp. President and CEO Goody Ilagan Jr.
What could this mean for Bataan?
This meeting opens up the exciting possibility of introducing zero-emission, electric ferries that literally fly above the water. Candelaโs advanced hydrofoil technology uses underwater wings to lift the vessel, significantly slashing energy consumption, cutting down emissions, and eliminating wake entirely.
While still in the exploration and discussion phases, this represents a massive potential upgrade for our coastal areas and nearby communities:
The Potential for Faster Commutes: Innovative electric vessels that could connect our coastal towns more efficiently.
A Future for Green Travel: The possibility of zero-emission transit to help protect our marine life and coastal resources.
World-Class Mobility: Exploring global, clean energy alternatives to elevate Bataan's maritime transportation.
From infrastructure planning to welcoming international tech pioneers, Bataan is actively exploring innovative solutions for sustainable growth. The future of clean maritime travel here holds incredible promise! ๐ธ๐ช๐ค๐ต๐ญ
