MANILAโCLARK RAILWAY HITS 65 PERCENT COMPLETION โ JAPAN-BUILT TRAINS COMING SOON
The NorthโSouth Commuter Railway (NSCR), the massive rail project linking Manila to Clark, Pampanga, is now 65 percent complete as of October 2025, according to Gulf News.
New train sets manufactured by JR East and Sumitomo in Japan are set to roll out soon, capable of running at 130 km/h, promising faster, smoother and more dependable travel for commuters.
The Department of Transportation also confirmed that all right-of-way issues from Calumpit to Clark have been resolved, allowing construction in Pampanga to accelerate.
Once fully operational, the 147-kilometer NSCR line will connect Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga and Laguna, cutting travel time from three hours to under one hour โ a game-changer that will reshape connectivity and redefine the skyline of Central Luzon.
