Judge Norton Properties A Canadian Property Developer brings his design ideas to Asia. Swimming fish, falling water and flowing air make this dynamic, cooling and calming.

Modern Design

The design of these homes is very modern – simple rectilinear lines, stark white on concrete, offset by bold non-concrete elements (stone, wood, stainless steel, PVC and glass). The free flowing spaces represent the idea of an oasis of uncluttered calm within the chaos of Manila. Modular built-in Cabinets – These units have generous modular built-in kitchens, built-in closets and o

ther built in cabinetry around the homes. Entertainment Centre

These homes are ideal for entertaining with their flowing open spaces connected by wide, airy corridors. On the ground floor guests can congregate around the kitchen/dining area and connected indoor/outdoor patio whilst others relax in the living room – spaces that are connected yet separated by the courtyard/Pond. The Great Room on the third floor with its high vaulted ceiling, kitchen and two terraces could be a party room for the kids or a media room to view movies. Heart and Soul

The pond/courtyard is the physical centrepoint and serves as the heart and soul of the homes. The music from the falls can be heard from all points of the homes. Corridors or Creative Spaces

The corridors have been designed to be much more than a means to connect rooms. Their width, height, airiness and placement afford the owner the flexibility to create some intriguing personalized spaces. The corridors could for example be an art gallery or space for spiritual icons – let your creative impulses run free – these homes were designed for your personal touch. More than a refuge...

More than a refuge these homes are interesting, welcoming spaces that will reflect the individuality and spirit of the owners. Every bedroom and the Great room have large terraces each with an interesting view. If you are a plant person and appreciate nature you can let your green imagination run wild. There are ample spaces all over the house for planter boxes, pocket gardens, etc. We have installed planter boxes on the third floor terraces with water faucets for easy watering. These planter boxes serve as the base for the millionaire vines that hang from the trellis above the pond and large enough to incorporate additional plants. Green House

The open airy spaces will mitigate the tropical heat and the cool water feature will lower the temperature by at least 3 degrees. We have used Bamboo flooring – that is solid bamboo (not engineered) which has a rich warm look and feel and of course is a renewable resource. From Canada to the USA to the Philippines

We are planning more projects here in The Philippines and the U.S.A. The Canadian property market is in a bubble and we are awaiting a return to saner market conditions before we re-enter that market. Architectural Inspiration

My principal architectural inspiration comes from the German born architect Ludwig Mies Van Der Roche (commonly referred to as Mies) 1886-1969. His architecture is a reflection of extreme clarity and simplicity. He strived toward an architecture with a minimal framework of structured order balanced against the implied freedom of open space. He rejected the eclectic and cluttered classical styles so common at the turn of the 20th century as irrelevant to modern times. He attacked the old style of hiding modern construction technology within a façade of ornamented traditional styles. Unified Expression

He believed that the configuration and arrangement of every architectural element, particularly the character of unified space must contribute to a unified expression.

51 A & 51 B Dona Hemady St. We hope that our creation exemplifies the standards established by Mies.
