The Philippine Consulate General takes careful note of the decision of the Macau Special Administrative Region to proceed with the third phase of its Filipino Domestic Helpers Entry Pilot Scheme starting Monday, May 23rd.
However, this development has not addressed the vital requirements under the long-established Philippine regulations covering the deployment of Filipino workers for overseas employment that were discussed at the meeting between the Consulate and concerned Macau offices, such as:
A standard employment contract verified by the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Macau stating the following in clear terms:
-Minimum salary of equivalent to USD 1200 for a professionally-trained and government-certified 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 suited to the job requirements stated in the Pilot Scheme;
-Compulsory insurance coverage;
-Provision of 2-way airfare;
-Other attendant travel costs such as cost of the NAT and quarantine in Macau to be arranged and paid for by the employer;
- Other standard requirements/details.
Based on current Philippine regulations, failure to comply with the above minimum requirements shall prohibit a prospective Filipino overseas worker from leaving the country.
The Consulate remains ready to pursue further discussions with the concerned authorities of Macau SAR. End
