It looks sleek, silent, and futuristic — yet this is not in New York City.
It’s the North–South Commuter Railway (NSCR), now steadily linking Manila to Clark, Pampanga.
According to Gulf News, about 65% of the Manila–Clark segment is already complete as of October 2025. The new trains, built by Japan’s JR East and Sumitomo, can run up to 130 km/h and are inspired by the clean, elevated design of Dubai Metro.
Inside, the cars gleam in silver and blue — built for both comfort and speed.
Outside, they stretch like a promise: faster travel, fewer hours on the road, and a fresh pulse of progress through Central Luzon.
The Department of Transportation confirms that right-of-way issues from Calumpit to Clark have been cleared — meaning construction will move faster in Pampanga.
The entire 147-kilometer route will connect Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, and Laguna — easing congestion and cutting travel from 3 hours to under 1.
Imagine: a train that hums through Pampanga, carrying thousands daily, from work to home, from the old normal to the new.
