Why Quezon City Should Be Your Real Estate Investment Destination?
Quezon City Best Real Estate Investment Destination in Metro Manila
Some of the most important factors in choosing a great real estate investment are location, accessibility, and livability. This is where Quezon City stands out above the rest
A melting pot of cultures, a fusion of the old and new, a vibrant city rich in history and nature parks, and dubbed as the “City of Stars” and “City of New Horizons”—these are just some of the things that describe the largest and most populated city in Metro Manila.
But what really makes Quezon City stand proud to its name and reputation? Why can we say that it is indeed worthy to be called the next real estate investment destination?
These are important questions that need accurate answers because for real estate investors, buying real estate is something serious and should be carefully considered. After all, a piece of property is an asset that grows in value overtime.
When priorities and considerations have been made, along with actual budget and costs involved, some of the most important factors in choosing a great real estate investment are location, accessibility, and livability. This is where Quezon City stands out above the rest. Let’s look at the reasons why.
A Burgeoning Central Business District
Described by the World Bank as the “center of gravity of all commercial activities in the coming years,” the Quezon City Central Business District (CBD), also called Triangle Park, is a 250-hectare transit-oriented, mixed-use community that features all the comforts of modern urban living: complete, walkable, sustainable, and ecologically compliant. Divided into five districts, this well-planned CBD will be a vibrant place that will eventually become home to condo high-rises, office towers, shopping malls, hotels, lots of open spaces, and a well-planned transport hub. Recreation areas and public parks are also within its vicinity, along with topnotch specialty hospitals and government offices. The continuous development of Triangle Park places Quezon City a notch above other cities in Metro Manila, and it is definitely something that everyone should look forward to.
Better Business Climate and Employment Opportunities
In an article published in the Philippine Star, Quezon City was named as among the top Philippine destinations for new businesses. This is evidenced by the continuous rise of infrastructure projects and of IT parks within the city. With the creation of the Quezon City BPO-ICT Council, whose aim is to address the needs of these businesses and their prospective locators, the city is now home to numerous offshoring and outsourcing businesses, which provide ample employment opportunities to its residents. Indeed, the local government’s goal to promote and create a better business climate has been successful, evidenced by the city’s buoyant economy.
Green City
Local government ordinances have placed strict guidelines and policies in terms of mitigating pollution and minimizing carbon emission. This is something that Quezon City has been particularly active in implementing, as evidenced by its many local ordinances aimed at promoting sustainability. Some of these include the Green Building Implementation Update,
Implementation of Plastic Bag Reduction Ordinance, Plastic and Styrofoam Ban at City Hall and QC Facilities, Implementation of Garbage Segregation Program, and Implementing Rules and Regulations for Green Infrastructure, among many others.
Education, Wellness, and Health Care
Having a large population of nearly 3 million, Quezon City’s main asset is its labor force, many of whom are products of the city’s best schools—topnotch educational centers that every year churn out skilled and highly employable graduates. Two of these schools are the University of the Philippines Diliman and Ateneo de Manila University.
Quezon City also boasts renowned specialty hospitals, including the Philippine Heart Center, the Lung Center of the Philippines, the National Kidney and Transplant Institute, and the Philippine Children’s Medical Center, all of whom are considered leaders in their respective specializations. Apart from private ones, the city also has numerous government-owned hospitals that provide quality primary care, especially to the city’s lower income residents.
Recreation, Dining, and Entertainment Spots
Quezon City is home to numerous shopping malls, in addition to foodie streets, entertainment areas, and public parks and monuments. In fact, two of the biggest shopping malls in the Philippines—SM City North EDSA and TriNoma Mall—are in Quezon City. In addition, the city is also home to La Mesa Watershed Reservation, which houses approximately 2,000 hectares of forest cover and open pastures and about 50 kilometers of nature trails.
But beyond malls and nature parks, the city also boasts a number of under-the-radar foodie destinations, including Maginhawa Street in UP Village, Timog Avenue, and Tomas Morato; museums and cultural centers like QCX Museum, Quezon Heritage House, and Art in Island; and sporting facilities.
