WHY FORCE PEOPLE TO CLIMB WHEN CARS REFUSE TO STOP?

The real problem was never pedestrians.
The real problem was that cars refuse to stop and respect pedestrian lanes.

Instead of enforcing the law or redesigning the street,
we chose the easier option — blame pedestrians.

So we built a skywalk.
We told people to climb, detour, and disappear
— just so cars wouldn’t have to slow down.

Now look at the image.

The current situation:
A skywalk exists because vehicles don’t yield.
Pedestrians are treated as obstacles.
Crossing at grade is seen as “inconvenient” — not unsafe.

The proposal:
We remove the skywalk and allow:
✅ People cross at grade
✅ Cars are forced to slow down
✅ Streets become greener
✅ Cycling becomes visible and protected
✅ Walking becomes normal again

This redesign proves a simple truth:

Skywalks don’t fix bad driver behavior
✅ Street design does

And yes — cars still move.
They just move with responsibility.

If a street needs a skywalk to be “safe,”
then the street — and how we protect cars — is the real failure.

Good cities don’t train people to avoid traffic.
Good cities force traffic to respect people.
