One of the benefits of financial protection is having additional financial support when a covered event happens, subject to your policy's terms and conditions.

I'm Kuya Emil, a licensed insurance advisor.

**THE MOST DANGEROUS NUMBER IN YOUR BUDGET IS ZERO.**

Not zero savings.

**Zero margin.**

If every peso coming in already has somewhere to go, one unexpected financial problem can force you to borrow, delay a payment, or use money meant for something else.

That's why financial planning isn't only about earning more.

It's also about creating **room.**

Room for emergencies.

Room for unexpected changes.

And, when appropriate, room for financial protection.

Before asking:

**“How much insurance can I afford?”**

Ask:

**“How much room does my budget actually have?”**

I'm Kuya Emil, a licensed insurance advisor.

**A BIG PAYCHECK DOESN'T ALWAYS MEAN A BIG FINANCIAL MARGIN.**

You can earn ₱60,000 a month...

and still have very little room after:

Rent.
Loans.
Bills.
Family support.
Daily expenses.

Income tells you **how much comes in.**

Your financial margin tells you **how much room you actually have.**

And that difference matters when you're deciding how much financial protection you can realistically maintain.

Don't choose a plan based only on what you earn.

Look at what you can **consistently afford.**

**YOUR EMERGENCY FUND HAS A JOB.**

And insurance has a different one.

Your savings can help handle expenses you can reasonably absorb.

But what happens when the financial problem is much bigger than the cash you've set aside?

That's where understanding the difference between **self-funding a risk** and **transferring a risk** becomes important.

The better question is:

**“Which risks can I afford to handle myself?”**

And which ones could seriously disrupt my finances?

That's financial planning.

Not simply buying products.

**YOU DON'T HAVE AN EXPENSE PROBLEM.**

**YOU HAVE A DEPENDENCY PROBLEM.**

Think about your monthly income.

How much of it is already spoken for?

Rent.
Parents.
Children.
Loans.
Household expenses.

The bigger question isn't always:

**“How much do I spend?”**

Sometimes it's:

**“How many things depend on my income continuing?”**

That's a very different question.

Because the more people, responsibilities, and commitments attached to your income, the more important it becomes to understand your financial protection.

**THE MOST EXPENSIVE THING YOU OWN HAS NO RECEIPT.**

It's not your phone.

It's not your car.

It's not even your house.

**It's your ability to earn.**

Imagine earning ₱40,000 a month.

That's ₱480,000 a year.

Now multiply that by the number of working years ahead of you.

Suddenly, your income isn't just a monthly salary.

It's a very large financial asset that you're building year after year.

The question is:

**What happens to that asset if you can no longer work because of a serious illness, disability, or other unexpected event?**

Hindi ito tungkol sa pagiging negative.

It's about recognizing something valuable that most people never put a number on.

Your income has a value.

And understanding how to protect that value is part of financial planning.

You work hard for the people who matter most. Pero habang inaasikaso mo ang needs ng pamilya mo today, napag-iisipan mo rin ba kung paano mapoprotektahan ang mga plano ninyo for the future?

As a breadwinner, importanteng malaman kung anong financial protection ang kailangan mo at kung magkano ang kaya mong i-commit without putting too much pressure on your monthly budget.

I'm Kuya Emil, a licensed insurance advisor. I can help you understand your options, explain the benefits and costs, and guide you in choosing what makes sense for your situation.

Tap Learn More to explore your options, compare available plans, and find out what protection may fit your needs and budget.

Let's start with understanding your options—no pressure to decide right away.

TWO PEOPLE CAN PAY THE SAME PREMIUM
AND HAVE VERY DIFFERENT PROTECTION.

Why?

Because your premium isn't the only thing that matters.

Your coverage can depend on things like:

• Your age
• Type of policy
• Amount of coverage
• Riders or additional benefits
• Policy terms and conditions

So when comparing insurance, don't stop at:

“Magkano monthly?”

Also ask:

“Ano exactly ang covered?”
“How much is the benefit?”
“What conditions apply?”
“How long does the coverage last?”

A lower premium isn't automatically better.

A higher premium isn't automatically better either.

The important part is understanding what you're actually paying for.

YOUR BENEFICIARY ISN’T JUST A NAME ON A FORM.

A lot of people choose a beneficiary once—and never think about it again.

But your life changes.

You get married.
You have children.
You separate.
A parent passes away.
Your family situation changes.

And your beneficiary information may need to change with it.

That's why it's worth checking your policy whenever there's a major change in your family or personal situation.

Before assuming everything is updated, check:

1. Who is currently listed?
2. Are their details still correct?
3. Does the designation still reflect your wishes?
4. Do you understand how the benefit will be distributed under your policy?

One important reminder:

Don't rely on memory. Check the actual policy documents and the insurer's current rules.

Financial planning isn't only about buying something.

Sometimes, it's simply making sure the things you've already arranged still make sense.

A healthy financial plan isn't just about knowing how to spend money.

It's also about preparing for the possibility that your income may not always be there.
