As of today, air quality in parts of Quezon City, is unhealthy for sensitive groups.

This is due to haze and a noticeable burnt smell caused by fumes coming from a landfill fire in Navotas City. The situation is being worsened by a thermal inversion, which traps polluted air near the ground, and winds coming from Manila Bay that push the smoke inland.

Health Advisory:

Residents especially children, seniors, and those with respiratory or heart conditions should take precautions:

• Limit outdoor activities
• Wear a mask when going outside
• Keep windows and doors closed
• Extra caution for children, elderly, and those with respiratory conditions

Please stay alert and prioritize your health and safety.
