CARMEL (Eco Smart Village) is blooming with the opening of new Carmel Residences (Phase 2) and its new centerpiece “The Fruit Tree Parks” to reconnect to the earth, to our bodies, to how things are made and to what products are grown; a lifestyle of self sufficiency characterized by subsistence agriculture; that would also become gathering spots and sources of education, celebration and sustenance— an incredible metaphor about distinction of mixed land use to create “social fruits or ”civic fruits.”
For By Carmel, fruit bearing trees are tools for communities to inject and enhance beauty, pleasure and abundance into collective spaces . The project was born out of its creative effort to bring forth Laguna’s history of heirloom orchards alive and hope to inspire and ignite communities into participating in an Edible Fruit Garden Movement. - Ms. Ellen Reyes
