🐢 A Sunset to Remember at Long Beach 🌅
Yesterday at 5:30 PM, we stood on the golden sands of Long Beach, San Vicente and witnessed something truly magical—the release of baby sea turtles into the vast blue ocean, hosted by Bai Bai Resort.
Watching these tiny “pawikans” make their first determined crawl toward the waves is a powerful reminder of why San Vicente, Palawan is such a special place. But moments like this are not just lucky encounters—they are the result of dedicated conservation efforts by the community and partner organizations.

✨ San Vicente is a Nesting Sanctuary
Our 14.7-kilometer Long Beach serves as an important nesting ground for sea turtles, particularly the Olive Ridley sea turtle.
✨ Community Protection Efforts
Local establishments such as Bai Bai Resort, Club Agutaya, and Turtle Beach Restaurant, together with the local community, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and marine conservation partners like Large Marine Vertebrates Research Institute Philippines, work tirelessly to protect turtle nests from predators and poachers. These efforts ensure the eggs remain safe during their ~60-day incubation period, allowing hatchlings to emerge and reach the ocean safely.

San Vicente’s development plan prioritizes environmental protection, including the 50-meter no-build setback zone, helping ensure that these turtles will still have a safe place to return 20–25 years from now when they come back to lay their own eggs.
Moments like this remind us that we are not just building a tourism destination—we are stewards of a precious ecosystem.
