300+ EVIARC SWEET JACKFRUIT SEEDLINGS: when farmers are trusted, communities rise
| A Slow Food Farm
Yesterday in Barangay Bae, Sibonga, Cebu, something quietly powerful happened. The kind of moment that won’t trend for a day, but will feed families for years.
Through a contract-growing partnership, the member farmers of the Bae Integrated Coconut Farmers Association were provided more than 300 EVIARC sweet jackfruit seedlings which is a living investment shared with purpose.
This is what Good, Clean, and Fair looks like on the ground:
✅ Farmers receive quality planting materials
✅ Farmers receive guidance and technical support
✅ Farmers keep their dignity — and build long-term income
✅ The community secures food and livelihood, one tree at a time
And we salute agriculturist Babie Embalzado who is a true pillar of the Slow Food Community of Sugbo for helping explain to our Bae farmers how to successfully establish and care for these seedlings. That kind of knowledge-sharing turns a “distribution” into a legacy.
This program is made possible through the partnership of Lasang Native Tree Sanctuary & Nursery by Oikos Orchard and Farm and Oikos Orchard and Farm because we believe the best way to fight poverty is to trust farmers with tools, training, and fair opportunities.
DAGHAN KAAYONG SALAMAT to everyone building this future with us.
The harvest will come and when it does, it will taste like dignity.
