CAVITE: A RISING EDUCATION HUB
The Province of Cavite is not just a residential and commercial center—it is steadily emerging as a major education hub in Southern Luzon. With a growing concentration of universities, colleges, and other learning institutions across its cities and municipalities, Cavite is creating its own University Belt. The province is home to numerous universities, both public and private, including the state-run Cavite State University (CvSU), which has expanded to 14 campuses across the province, with its main branch located in Indang.
Dasmariñas, serving as the core of education in Cavite, is surrounded by well-established institutions such as De La Salle University, Emilio Aguinaldo College, Technological University of the Philippines, Philippine Christian University, St. Jude College, National University, and the De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute. Adding to its prominence, the upcoming University of the Philippines campus at Villar City’s University Town further strengthens its reputation as the “UniverCity of Cavite.”
Other cities are also shaping their academic identities. In Imus, the Vermosa Campus Town began with De La Salle Santiago Zobel, with the upcoming University of Asia and the Pacific marking the start of a vibrant educational community. Meanwhile, Ateneo de Manila University is set to open its new campus at Riverpark, General Trias, completing the “Big 3 University” presence in Cavite. National University and Angeles University Foundation are also expanding in the city, complementing existing institutions such as Lyceum of the Philippines University and AMA College. Rumors of a De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde are also making waves.
San Sebastian College–Recoletos and St. Joseph College maintain campuses in Cavite City, while St. Dominic College of Asia and the University of Perpetual Help serve students in Bacoor, with a campus in GMA as well. Olivarez College in Tagaytay caters to learners in the upland area. Educational opportunities also extend beyond the urban centers. In nearby towns, learners can choose from institutions such as the Adventist University of the Philippines, Far Eastern University, and Chiang Kai Shek College in Silang, as well as the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in Alfonso and Maragondon.
With its expanding network of reputable institutions, Cavite is rapidly positioning itself as a premier destination for higher learning. The province’s strategic location, modern infrastructure, and dedication to academic excellence make it a thriving environment for students seeking diverse educational opportunities close to home. Indeed, Cavite is rising as a major education hub in Southern Luzon.
