Agriculture is the only source of income for most of the residents.

Shareef Kot is a small village in the district Bahawalnagar named after Peer Haji Muhammad Shareef Chishti, who was the owner of the vast agricultural area back then. Although literacy rate of the village is not up-to-the-mark but now the individuals are trying to vent into the bigger cities for better income resources. They have been successful to get opportunities in different sectors as per their educational level and expertise developed. It has enormous potential to grow in future and looks forward to link its HR and other resources with the industry to capitalize them in a better manner.
