Tom Cruise ego 'dented' as he loses Shakira to Lewis Hamilton after 'hopeful flirtation

Tom Cruise's ego is said to be "dented" after she lost out on his potential romance with recent divorcee and singer, Shakira to Lewis Hamilton, as the pair fuel dating rumours

The Mission Impossible star was said to have been "flirting" with the She Wolf singer shortly after her rocky divorce from ex-husband Gerard Pique after she claimed to have caught him cheating with his now-partner Clara Chia Marti.

It was reported that Tom had told his pals that he and Shakira “had incredible chemistry and taking it as a slam dunk they’d be dating in no time".

His close pal confirmed that the actor's ego had been "dented" after hearing that Shakira had rejected his advances and instead chosen to continue a potential romance with Tom's "buddy" and Formula 1 driver, Lewis Hamilton.

Tom Cruise’s The Mummy Gender-Swapped the Villain With Sofia Boutella To Avoid Copying Oscar Isaac in $543M Marvel Movie

In the Universal reboot of the popular movie, The Mummy, Hollywood star Tom Cruise and actress Sofia Boutella played the lead roles. The film was directed by Alex Kurtzman and released in 2017. The actress Sofia Boutella has earlier proven her acting skills with movies like Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond. In the film, she played the role of an Egyptian princess who unleashed the dark world to become the Pharaoh

As per reports, the look and gender of The Mummy were supposed to be opposite to what we saw in the movie. The director did that to avoid similarity with the main villain of X-Men: Apocalypse, released in 2016

On being asked the reason for changing the gender of the character for the movie, he shared that it would have become a copy of Oscar Isaac’s look in X-Men: Apocalypse. Kurtzman said,

Sofia Boutella shared that Top Gun star Tom Cruise was like a mentor for her in the movie. The movie was made with a budget of $195 million and its box office collection was $410 million.

83 years of Tom and Jerry! Here is why we are still fans of this adorable cartoon

It's been 83 years since we were gifted with one of the greatest cartoons of all time - Tom and Jerry. The famous cat and mouse duo was our regular source of entertainment in childhood and even today, we just cannot stop watching it. While many cartoons have been a part of our childhood including Doraemon, Pokemon, Shinchan, Kochikame amongst others, however, Tom and Jerry is the ultimate winner. Created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera in 1940, the cartoon continues to amaze us in 2023.

Well, one of the many reasons we love the show to date is its timeless, slapstick style of comedy. The humour is not based on a generation and can easily be enjoyed by people of all ages. While it's a dialogue-less comedy, what amazes us is the clever gags that make it a joyful watch across generations.

Wednesday S2 Needs To Forget About Romance (& Enid Actor Emma Myers Agrees)

The confirmed renewal of "Wednesday" by Netflix means that fans are in for a lot more of what made the first season such a hit; more of Jenna Ortega's delightfully sadistic Wednesday Addams, more dark sarcasm, more homages to the original "Addams Family," and, probably, more murder. While there are plenty of things we and other fans would love to see in the second season, the cast understandably has their own preferences.

This of course includes Emma Myers, who plays Wednesday's bubbly and rainbow-clad werewolf roommate and friend, Enid Sinclair. Speaking with Variety, Myers shared some of her thoughts about where Season 2 might take "Wednesday." One of the things she feels fairly strongly about is that Wednesday should, for the time being anyway, remain single. "As far as love interests go for Wednesday," said Myers, "I feel like at least for a second season, she needs to take her season of singleness. She just had a whole fiasco with her men, she's got to lay it off for a little bit. I would be deterred from dating anybody if I had gone through that."

Ortega has previously mentioned that fans should expect less romance and more horror in the second season. It makes sense. Season 1 of "Wednesday" ended with one of Wednesday's love interests, Tyler (Hunter Doohan), imprisoned as a murderous monster. Meanwhile, the other, psychic Xavier (Percy Hynes White), isn't on the best of terms with Wednesday after she originally accused him of being said murderous monster.

Taking the events of Season 1 at face value, it seems very clear that Wednesday would do well to swear off men for a bit. Jenna Ortega, for what it's worth, seems to agree. During an interview with MTV News, Ortega said that "Now that Tyler's off the table, I feel like she's off of boys for a while." But both Ortega and Emma Myers are well aware of another option concerning Wednesday's dating life. After all, swearing off men does not necessarily mean swearing off dating. Might "Wenclair" be in the cards for the second season of this record-breaking series?

Wenclair, as fans of "Wednesday" will know, is what shippers are calling a potential relationship between Wednesday and Enid. Wednesday has long been adopted as a q***r icon, going back at least to the 1990s when Christina Ricci portrayed her in the two "Addams" films. And Ortega and Myers seem to approve of the idea that their characters wind up together. Even at the premiere of the show they both seemed to think so.

"In a perfect world, [Wenclair] would have been a thing," Ortega told Pride. Meanwhile, Myers told Elite Daily "I feel like that's a really, really powerful thing to see. I feel like people want to see powerful women with powerful women."

Jenna Ortega gushes over 'beautiful and wonderful' Wednesday costar Emma Myers: 'I don't think I've ever been so protective of somebody'

Just like her character Wednesday Addams, Jenna Ortega grew to become extremely fond of her onscreen Nevermore Academy roommate Emma Myers while they were filming their Netflix hit series in the middle of Romania from September 2021 to March 2022.

'She's a sweetheart. She's a real person,' the 20-year-old Cali native gushed on Monday's episode of Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard and Monica Padman.

'We get along so naturally. I'm so easily comfortable around her. I used to wake up every day in Romania and before I was even conscious, I would do voice memos and I would sing her a new song every day, talking about how beautiful and wonderful she was and how she was gonna have the best day ever. I've never had that desire or urge for anybody else.'

Jenna - who admitted to changing lines and being unprofessional on set - said she doesn't think she's ever been 'so protective of somebody' before meeting the 20-year-old Florida native, who plays bubbly werewolf Enid Sinclair.

'I think about her all the time. I only ever want to make sure she's okay and good,' Ortega added.

Spongebob swims into Opera House Manchester

The Spongebob Musical comes to Opera House Manchester as part of its first ever UK tour, starring Tom Read Wilson, Divina de Campo and Hannah Lowther

The Spongebob Musical

The Spongebob Musical. I know what you’re thinking. What the fish? But, believe it or not, the musical opened on Broadway to critical acclaim, and with a whopping 12 Tony Award nominations, it tied with Mean Girls for the most-nominated production at the 72nd Tony Awards in 2018.

The musical embarked on a US tour in late 2019 but it closed in early 2020 because of that pesky pandemic. All UK audiences had was the television special featuring members from the original Broadway cast.

Until now.

The Spongebob Musical – called SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical on Broadway – recently began its UK tour, and it’s shortly swimming into Manchester!

Plunge into this stunning, all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show! When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world! With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up. The power of optimism really can save the world!

The production stars Celebs Go Dating Star Tom Read Wilson as Squidward (he’s sharing the role with singer Gareth Gates) and Ru-Paul’s Drag Race legend Divina De Campo as Plankton. The first time I saw de Campo onstage was in the musical Dancing Bear at the Palace Theatre. I was then in the audience of All Together Now, which they judged. I later reviewed Drag Fest 2023, which they performed at, and attended the press night of Hedwig, in which they played the title character. I just know they’re going to kill it as the fabulous, villainous Plankton!

Based on the series by Stephen Hillenburg, The SpongeBob Musical, written by Kyle Jarrow and conceived by Tina Landau, features a tidal wave of original songs by the world’s most iconic rock and pop artists, including Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles (who wrote the music and lyrics for Waitress), Jonathan Coulton, Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper (who wrote the music and lyrics for Kinky Boots), John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants and T.I., and songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley. Additional lyrics by Jonathan Coulton and additional music by Tom Kitt.

An exciting new production featuring irresistible characters, magical choreography and dazzling costumes, this deep-sea pearl of a show is really set to make a splash with audiences young and old as the must-see musical of 2023. The future is bright, the future is bold, the future is The SpongeBob Musical.

Tom And Jerry: 4 Classic Episodes That Still Hold Up

Celebrating its 81st anniversary in 2021, Tom and Jerry has established itself as one of the most famous as well as influential cartoon franchises in the history of animation. The original era spanned three unique styles, created by radically different production houses— Hanna-Barbera from 1940 to 1958; Gene Deitch from 1961 to 1962; and Chuck Jones from 1963-1967.

The first run produced 114 shorts, earning an incredible 7 Oscars, while the latter two incorporated 13 and 34 shorts, respectively. In addition to television, there have been movies, comics, and video game adaptations, not to mention a Japanese musical known as Tom and Jerry: Purr-Chance to Dream.

Updated on September 29th, 2022: The charming nostalgia of Tom & Jerry remains as powerful as ever in 2022, over eighty years after the first cartoon short was released. Despite earning backlash from critics, Tom & Jerry: The Movie (2021) proved to be wildly successful at the box office. This infamous cat and mouse pair are likely to remain at the forefront of popular culture for several more years to come.

Sleepy-Time Tom (1951) Would Rather Have A Nap Than A Home

Tom spends the entire night performing raucous songs with Meathead, Lightning, and Butch, only returning home at sunrise. Mammy orders him to safeguard the fridge from Jerry even though the cat can barely keep his eyes open. Jerry uses the opportunity to mess with his nemesis by creating a sleep-friendly environment for Tom.

By the end of the episode, Mammy catches Tom fast asleep on her bed and instantly kicks him out as promised. Tom doesn't even care anymore at this point, and continues sleeping until his feline pals return for another night of caterwauling.

Quiet Please! (1945) Takes On Surreal Proportions Midway Through The Episode

An Academy Award winner, Quiet Please! involves the hilarious triplet of Tom, Jerry, and Spike — who spends the first half of the episode just trying to get some sleep. This fails because the cat and mouse are in the process of wrecking the house as usual, using everything in their arsenal from frying pans to shotguns.

Unfortunately for Tom, he takes the blame for all the ruckus, leaving Jerry with a malicious plan to blackmail his nemesis with the threat of loud noises. The story takes on surreal proportions when Tom is forced to become an ad-hoc Christmas tree, later proceeding to administer sleeping drugs to Spike, a scheme that turns out exactly as expected.

MultiVersus: How To Play As Tom And Jerry

MultiVersus' Tom And Jerry will hit you from both sides as they fill the arena with projectiles. Learn how to master this projectile propelling duo.

MultiVersus Tom And Jerry bear the mage class designation. This is one of the least populated classes and indicates that they are projectile-focused. But while you may hear that they have an emphasis on projectiles and think you have a general understanding of what that entails, we are here to tell you that you know nothing. Tom And Jerry's projectile game is as diverse as it is potent. And it is very potent.

The primary quirk at play here is the ability for Tom to set Jerry down and ricochet projectiles between the two of them. Their projectiles can move on diagonals, they can move horizontally, and they can arc. While Tom And Jerry are far from being easy to use, once you start to grasp the full scope of their toolkit, you will see that they are a genuine threat to their enemies.

Being a mage class character, you are absolutely going to be primarily concerned with keeping your distance and employing a wide range of projectiles. There are two elements that make using this character a little more difficult. Firstly, a truly effective use of Tom And Jerry requires establishing a good setup. This means getting Jerry positioned on the battlefield and getting the trap down in between Tom and his enemies.

The other important aspect for effective Tom And Jerry play is the timing element. It isn't as easy as just pressing the special button for Tom And Jerry. You need to time your shots in order to effectively ricochet the projectiles between Tom And Jerry. Once again, the more you play this duo, the more naturally the timing will come to you, but you will be whiffing more often than you like in the early going.

MultiVersus: Best Tom & Jerry Perks | Character Builds Guide

The new platform fighter MultiVersus brings together some of the most beloved characters from many different Warner Bros. properties. Tom & Jerry, one of the most recognizable duos in animated history is among this cast of characters with the two of them being one of the most unique characters on the roster. While the unique playstyle makes them one of the most standout characters in the game, they still rely on the Perk system to really get the most out of the game. The perk system is one of the pillars of MultiVersus‘s gameplay, giving players the ability to choose four perks that act as bonuses or buffs for your character from a collection of many different abilities. One is a unique “Signature Perk” that is unique to the character that you play while the other minor perks, which each character comes with their own set of that you can unlock as you level them up and will then be able shared between all the characters with the “Train Perk” feature. For players that want to know how to truly master Tom & Jerry, they will need to know how to make a good character build with these perks. This guide will explain some of the best perks to use with Tom & Jerry in MultiVersus.

Best Tom & Jerry Builds In MultiVersus
The first and most important thing about finding the best perks for your characters is to understand their class and type, two categories that can help you understand how a character plays. Tom & Jerry is a Hybrid-type Mage character, meaning that he is a character that focuses on using projectiles as their primary form of offense that will both send opponents off the stage sideways and upwards to knock them off the screen. As the Mage class would suggest, the duo are proficient in many different types of slapstick projectiles, so this is going to be the main focus of the perks we select for his build. So let’s take a look at one of the characters’ best builds.

Signature Perk: Dynamite Split (Unlocked at Tom & Jerry Mastery Level 8)
Perk Slot 1: Offensive- Make It Rain, Dog (Unlocked at Tom & Jerry Mastery Level 2)
Perk Slot 2: Offensive-That’s Flammable, Doc! (Unlocked by Tom & Jerry Mastery Level 4)
Perk Slot 3: Utility- I Dodge You Dodge We Dodge (Unlocked at Tom & Jerry Mastery Level 11)

The Dynamite Split is a perk that is tied to Tom & Jerry’s Air Down-Triangle move “Look Out Below!” This will see Tom drop a stick of dynamite that can then be hit with a racket that you use with both his air and ground Neutral-Square “Volley” move. Hitting the dynamite with this Perk equipped will split the dynamite into three different pieces, making it great for arena control and works great with the minor perks that you equip in this build.

Both of the Offensive perks that you want for this build will tie into this focus on ranged combat and Tom’s heavy use of projectiles. Make It Rain, Dog is a perk that will increase projectile speed by 20% when equipped with an increase to 25% when stacked with your partner. This works with the previously mentioned dynamite by also both Tom’s Up and Down-Triangle moves that will see him use projectiles. Tom & Jerry also have the added passive ability that Jerry will shoot bottle corks toward Tom when the two are separated, which can also be volleyed to turn them into fireballs. All of these projectiles make this perk a necessity in any build with the character. Another Offensive perk is That’s Flammable, Doc! This perk will allow you and your teammate to Ignite an enemy on fire for 1 second if you are able to hit them with a melee attack within 3 seconds of knocking them back with a projectile. This perk will Ignite an enemy on fire for 2 seconds when it is stacked. This can be great for team play as Tom’s constant projectile game can get enemies into this state constantly while their partner goes in for the melee attacks.

Moving on to the only Utility perk in this build, I Dodge You Dodge We Dodge is a perk that will replenish 10% of an ability cooldown after dodging an attack, with that percentage going up to 15% when stacked. This is a very useful perk since many of Tom’s special moves involve some sort of cooldown, including the ability to resummon Jerry if he happens to die. Just like the show, much of Tom’s charm disappears without Jerry and if the crafty mouse is killed, you will need to wait for an ability to fill up in order to get him back. This along with other moves such as his Down-Triangle on the ground “Snap Trap,” which places a trap, or his previously mentioned “Look Out Below!” that is so closely tied to his Signature ability, this perk can make sure that you get these moves back quicker.

Amazon Likely to Part Ways With Jeremy Clarkson After Final Commissioned Shows Go to Air; ‘Grand Tour’ Host Sent Email Apology to Harry & Meghan (EXCLUSIVE)

A virtual press conference for Jeremy Clarkson’s Amazon Prime Video series “Clarkson’s Farm” that was set to take place on Tuesday morning has been called off.

The event — which was scheduled before the presenter’s column about Meghan Markle was published in British tabloid The Sun in December — had still been on the cards in recent weeks, despite the ensuing controversy. However, it was canceled at 6 p.m. U.K. time on Monday, hours after Clarkson posted a fresh apology on Instagram, and Variety reported that Prime Video was set to part ways with the controversial figure.

A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex issued a statement regarding the matter on Monday afternoon.

“On Dec. 25, 2022, Mr. Clarkson wrote solely to Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex. The contents of his correspondence were marked Private and Confidential. While a new public apology has been issued today by Mr. Clarkson, what remains to be addressed is his long-standing pattern of writing articles that spread hate rhetoric, dangerous conspiracy theories, and misogyny,” the statement reads. “Unless each of his other pieces were also written ‘in a hurry,’ as he states, it is clear that this is not an isolated incident shared in haste, but rather a series of articles shared in hate.”

EARLIER: Amazon Prime Video is likely to be parting ways with Jeremy Clarkson mere weeks after his comments about Meghan Markle were published in British tabloid The Sun.

Sources tell Variety that the streaming service won’t be working with Clarkson beyond seasons of “The Grand Tour” and “Clarkson’s Farm” that have already been commissioned. This means that the notorious “Top Gear” presenter likely won’t be appearing in any new shows on Prime Video beyond 2024 (though there’s every chance a final “Grand Tour” episode could carry over into 2025).

Prime Video already has a number of shows in the works with Clarkson, which are going to go ahead, but the decision effectively means that “Clarkson’s Farm” will end with Season 3 (expected in 2024). It also means that motoring format “The Grand Tour,” one of Prime Video’s biggest shows, will also come to an end. Variety understands the series will conclude after four more special episodes — the last of which is expected to land in late 2024.

Prime Video declined to comment on this story.

Although the streamer didn’t make any public comment when Clarkson’s vitriolic column made international headlines in December, it’s clear the company was deeply unhappy behind the scenes. In a fresh apology made by Clarkson on Monday, he says the streamer was “incandescent” about his tirade against Markle and Prince Harry.

In a lengthy statement posted to his official Instagram on Monday afternoon, Clarkson says, “I really am sorry. All the way from the balls of my feet to the follicles on my head. This is me putting my hands up. It’s a mea culpa with bells on.”

The extensive apology for his December comments — in which Clarkson suggested Markle be made to “parade naked” through Britain while people “throw lumps of excrement at her” — comes a day ahead of a planned press conference for “Clarkson’s Farm.” (The promotional event for Season 2 of the show, launching on Feb. 10, was scheduled just days prior to Clarkson’s comments.)

“Usually, I read what I’ve written to someone else before filing, but I was home alone on that fateful day, and in a hurry,” wrote Clarkson. “So when I’d finished, I just pressed send. And then, when the column appeared the next day, the land mine exploded.

“It was a slow rumble to start with and I ignored it. But then the rumble got louder. So I picked up a copy of The Sun to see what all the fuss was about. We’ve all been there, I guess. In that precise moment when we suddenly realise we’ve completely messed up. You are sweaty and cold at the same time. And your head pounds. And you feel sick. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. Had I really said that? It was horrible.”

Clarkson also reveals in the statement that he emailed Markle and Prince Harry on Christmas morning to apologize to them. “I said I was baffled by what they had been saying on TV but that the language I’d used in my column was disgraceful and that I was profoundly sorry.”

In Clarkson’s Dec. 16 column, titled “One day, Harold the glove puppet will tell the truth about A Woman Talking B*ks,” the former “Top Gear” presenter wrote of Markle: “I hate her. Not like I hate [Scottish National Party leader] Nicola Sturgeon or [British serial killer] Rose West. I hate her on a cellular level.”

He continued, referencing an infamous “Game of Thrones” scene involving Lena Headey’s Cersei: “At night, I’m unable to sleep as I lie there, grinding my teeth and dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, ‘Shame!’ and throw lumps of excrement at her.”

In the column, which Clarkson writes weekly for The Sun, he also suggested that Prince Harry has no “control” over his actions anymore, largely thanks to Markle.

Speaking with ITV in a promotional interview for his top-selling memoir “Spare,” Harry said the column was “horrific, hurtful and cruel towards my wife. It also encourages other people around the U.K. and around the world, particularly men, to go and think that it’s acceptable to treat women that way.”

Clarkson issued a brief apology for his words on Dec. 19, saying he had “rather put my foot in it.”
“In a column I wrote about Meghan, I made a clumsy reference to a scene in Game of Thrones and this has gone down badly with a great many people,” Clarkson continued in a tweeted statement. “I’m horrified to have caused so much hurt and I shall be more careful in future.”

The Sun column became the Independent Press Standards Organization’s most complained-about article since its formation in 2014. It drew almost 21,000 complaints. The Sun also made a rare apology, one full week after the article was published.

While Clarkson will remain on Prime Video for another two years, a move not to renew any of the presenter’s shows for the service would be a bold statement by the streamer.

Prime Video swooped for the original “Top Gear” team in 2015 after the BBC cut ties with Clarkson after the host punched one of the show’s producers. The parting of ways with Clarkson and co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May came at a great cost to the BBC, for which “Top Gear” was worth more than £50 million per year, and brought in a massive global audience. The show has continued on the broadcaster with hosts Paddy McGuinness, Freddie Flintoff and Chris Harris.

Homer Simpson Is A Trippy Amalgamation Of Simpsons References In Mind-Bending Art

Homer Simpson becomes a trippy amalgamation of recognizable and deep-cut Simpsons references and iconography in a piece of mind-bending artwork.

The Simpsons' Homer Simpson undergoes a radical transformation in a new piece of artwork that uses a number of recognizable references to create a portrait of the character. Dan Castellaneta's iconic character has been a mainstay of the beloved animated sitcom's main cast since the show debuted in 1989. Homer Simpson and the rest of his chaotic family's misadventures can currently be seen in the ongoing season 34, with future seasons 35 and 36 already confirmed to be in the works.

As The Simpsons revisits classic season 1 characters and other more obscure faces, artist loko_ramzy has taken to Instagram to give one of Springfield's core residents an incredibly inventive and detailed reimagining.

In the artwork above, loko_ramzy has taken various elements seen throughout The Simpsons and merged them all together to create a portrait of Homer's face. Eagle-eyed fans of The Simpsons are sure to be rewarded if they pay close attention to the piece of artwork, as various elements, including Homer's hair, are recreated through specific items, including his beloved donuts, complete with pink icing and sprinkles.

As one of the core family members on The Simpsons, Homer is not only one of the most recognizable characters in animation, but is also one of the most beloved sitcom characters of all time. Ever since Homer first debuted as part of The Tracey Ullman Show in 1987, the character's catchphrases, mannerisms, and design have become embedded in pop culture. As such, Homer is often the character who would feature when The Simpsons would take part in crossovers both big and brief.

However, while Homer has remained a mainstay of The Simpsons throughout its over 30-year run, his character has fluctuated depending on the showrunner and writers. While Homer was established as a flawed but loving father dedicated to caring for his family, there was a change in his personality throughout the late '90s and early 2000s that saw him become a much more mean-spirited figure. While Homer has retained some of this era's self-serving nature, many later Simpsons seasons have seen a return of the character's softer side through the show's more recent, character-focused stories.
