Officials have finalised the designs and begun preliminary work on three new underpasses along Peshawar Road in Rawalpindi at Race Course Park Chowk, Army Graveyard Chowk and Charing Cross to improve traffic flow on one of the city’s busiest arteries.
The project is part of a wider plan tied to the Rs14 billion Kutchery Chowk remodelling scheme, which is already about 70 % complete.

Work on the underpasses is set to start soon after utility shifting completes, with authorities aiming to finish construction within 70 days to ease congestion and streamline commuter movement.

پاکستانوزیر اعظم نے خطے کی کشیدہ صورتحال کے باعث کفایت شعاری اقدامات کا اعلان کردیا
وزیر اعظم شہباز شریف نے اپنے خطاب میں کہا کہ عالمی منڈی میں خام تیل کی قیمت 60 سے بڑھ کر 100 ڈالرز سے تجاوز کرچکی ہے، ہماری معیشت کا انحصار خلیج سے آنے والے تیل اور گیس پر ہے۔
وزیر اعظم نے کہا آئندہ 2ماہ کے لیے سرکاری محکموں کی گاڑیوں کو ملنے والے ایندھن میں 50 فیصد کمی کی جارہی ہے جس سے ایمبولینسز اور عوامی استعمال کی بسیں مستثنیٰ ہوں گی۔

وزیر اعظم کے مطابق آئندہ دو ماہ کے لیے تمام سرکاری محکموں کی 60 فیصد سرکاری گاڑیاں گراؤنڈ کی جارہی ہیں، جبکہ کابینہ کے تمام ارکان، وزرا، مشیر، معاونین رضاکارانہ طورپر2 ماہ کی تنخواہ نہیں لیں گے اسی طرح ارکان پارلیمنٹ کی تنخواہوں میں بھی 25 فیصد کٹوٹی کی جارہی ہے۔

گریڈ 20 اور اس سے اوپر کے افسران جن کی تنخواہ 3 لاکھ سے زائد ہے ان کی تنخواہ سے دو دن کی کٹوتی کرکے عوامی ریلیف کے لیے استعمال کی جائے گی۔

وزیر اعظم کے مطابق تمام محکموں کے تنخواہوں کے علاوہ اخراجات میں 20 فیصد کٹوتی اور سرکاری محکموں میں اشیا کی خریداری پر مکمل پابندی عائد کردی گئی ہے۔
