The incident happened earlier this week.
A shopkeeper in Islamabad was very eager to display my designs at his shop and after constant calls I finally made up my mind to collaborate with him. Once we closed the deal he offered to drop me at my meeting saying that it's his wedding anniversary and he will be traveling to F11 any way. He waited for my meeting to end and persisted on dropping me back home as now I was in business with him. Once he dropped me, I received a text from him on Whatsapp asking me to send him pictures. Without giving it a thought I sent him my product catalogue in response to which he said ' apki'(yours). I thought there must be some understanding and called him, but to my amazement he repeated himself again saying "your pictures, if you don't mind ..mera dil kar raha tha"- that too even being aware that I'm a married woman.
These are the societal vices which restrict women from entering work or business market. And mind you I was covered head to toe in a long coat and a scarf draped on my head, with no make-up at all.
I have been having business meetings with men for a year now, but this one person ruined my whole day and made me feel disgusted.
So next time when someone says the fault is in the dress women wear, tell them that it lies in the filthy eyes of a few men who make life hard for many .
