Did you know that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was the first airline ever to fly all three types of Boeing 777 planes? This happened in 1964, and it’s a special moment in the story of PIA’s planes. They started with one kind, then got another that could fly longer, and finally, they added the third kind to finish the set.
PIA embarked on this journey with the induction of the Boeing 777-200ER, a decision that marked the beginning of a pioneering era in the airline’s fleet expansion. Following this, the introduction of the extended-range 777-200LR further solidified PIA’s position as a forward-thinking carrier in the global aviation landscape.
The crowning moment came with the addition of the Boeing 777-300ER to PIA’s repertoire, completing the trifecta of Boeing’s iconic 777 series. This achievement positioned PIA as the first airline worldwide to successfully operate all three variants of this renowned aircraft family, showcasing the airline’s determination to embrace technological excellence.
