SLAMABAD, January 10, 2020: Ambassador of Peoples Republic of China, Mr. Yao Jing called on the Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Asad Umar here today on Friday. Matters relating to CPEC and economic cooperation between the two countries in general, came under discussion.
The Minister expressed his satisfaction at the progress of various projects under CPCE and said that the pace of implementation would be further accelerated in the weeks and months to come. He said that the establishment and operationalization the Special Economic Zones is currently the top priority. The SEZ would enable setting up of joint ventures in manufacturing which would integrate the enterprises from both sides.

ISLAMABAD, Nov 18, 2019: Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar on Monday said that under China Pakistan Economic Corridor’s (CPEC) next phase, the industrial base of the country would be expanded which would help in increasing the country’s exports.
The minister said that China has total trade volume worth $4000 billion with the world; however Pakistan has only $ 80 billion of trade with global market.

ISLAMABAD, October 18, 2019: Secretary Ministry of Planning Zafar Hasan said that the CPEC is progressing satisfactorily and a lot of challenges related to it have been addressed. He said that under the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision we should deepen the people -to -people contacts, cultural exchange programs, promote tourism and mutual visits from both sides.

Secretary Planning Zafar Hasan was chairing a video conference of Joint Working Group (JWG) on Planning with Deputy Director General NDRC Mr. Gao Jian here at Islamabad on Friday. Additional Secretary/ Project Director CPEC Waqar-ul-Hasan and senior officials from both sides were also present.
Secretary Planning stated that provision of affordable housing is the top priority of the incumbent government. In this regard Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority has been established to fast track housing projects and leverage the supply-demand gap in the country.

ISLAMABAD, August 26, 2019: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar chaired Cabinet Committee on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) here in Islamabad to review progress of various projects under CPEC framework. The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed, Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi, Advisor to PM on Commerce, Textile & Industry Abdul Razzak Dawood, DCPC Dr. Jahanzeb Khan, Secretary Planning Zafar Hasan, Secretaries from different ministries, members Planning Commission and senior officials from provincial governments also attended the meeting.
Secretary Planning gave a detailed presentation to the participants on various projects under CPEC framework. The Committee decided that financing discussion on ML-1 project should be commenced to finalize the mode and PC-1 of the project. The Minister reiterated that it is a very important project under CPEC portfolio and the incumbent Government is committed to fast track it.

1 ۔ سی پیک پاکستان اور چین کی کئی دہائیوں پرمحیط قریبی اور مضبوط تعلقات کا مظہر ہے ۔
2 ۔ موجودہ حکومت کی کاوشوں سے سی پیک اب دوسرے مرحلے میں داخل ہو گیا ہے جس میں صنعتی اور زرعی تعاون ، گوادر کی ترقی اور سماجی و اقتصادی ترقی پر فوکس کیا جائے گا ، جس کے دور رس مثبت نتائج حاصل ہونگے اور معاشی ترقی کی راہ ہموار ہوگی ۔
3۔ سی پیک کے دوسرے مرحلے میں نہ صرف اس منصوبے کے دائرہ کار بلکہ رفتار کو بھی تیز کیا جائے گا ۔ ہماری حکومت اس منصوبے کو بھر پور انداز میں آگے بڑھانے کے لیے پر عزم ہے ۔
4۔ باہمی تعاون کو مزید آگے بڑھانے کے لیے سی پیک سیکرٹریٹ کو ایک اتھارٹی میں تبدیل کیا جا رہا ہے ، جو وزارت منصوبہ بندی ترقی و اصلاحات کے نیچے کام سر انجام دے گی ، جس کا کام مختلف شعبہ جات میں تعاون بڑھانا اور مستقبل میں سی پیک کے منصوبوں پر عمل درآمد کو یقینی بنانا ہوگا ۔
5۔ سی پیک اتھارٹی کو منصوبوں کی رفتار کو تیز کرنے کے لیے ضروری انسانی وسائل کے ساتھ اچھی طرح سے لیس کیا جائے گا ۔ اتھارٹی بہترین نتائج حاصل کرنے کے لیے فیصلے سازی کے عمل کو آسان بنائے گا ۔
6 ۔ سی پیک کے مفاہمتی یادشت کے تحت پاکستان کی طرف سے وزارت منصوبہ بندی ترقی و اصلاحات کا کلیدی کردار برقرار رہے گا جبکہ چین کی جانب سے این ڈی آر سی (NDRC ) کا کلیدی کردار ہو گا ۔
7 ۔ اکتوبر 2019 میں نویں (JCC) جے سی سی کا انعقاد کیا جا رہا ہے ۔
8۔ وائس چئیرمین این ڈی آر سی مسٹر ننگ بھی جے سی سی میں شرکت کے لیے پاکستان کا دورہ کریں گے ۔
سی پیک منصوبوں کو درپیش تمام اتنظامی مسائل کو ترجیحی بنیادوں پر حل کیا جا رہا ہے۔
9۔ گزشتہ حکومت نے گوادر کی ترقی کے لیے کوئی خاطر خواہ کام نہیں کیا، جبکہ موجودہ حکومت نے اقتدار میں آنے کے فوراً بعد گوادر کی ترقی کو تیز کرنے کے لیے تمام سٹیک ہولڈرز کے ساتھ مشاورت کی اور اس سلسلے ایک جامع منصوبہ بندی کی جا رہی ہے
10۔ گوادر کو جدید طرز پر تعمیر کیا جائے گا اور اس کو بین الاقوامی معیار کا سمارٹ پورٹ سٹی بنانے کے لیے جامع منصوبہ بندی کی جا رہی ہے جس سے وہ خطے کی اہم ترین بندرگاہ بن کر ابھرے گی ۔

ISLAMABAD: June 21, 2019: Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Reform Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar has said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project is now entering into the second phase wherein bilateral cooperation in agriculture and industrial sectors will be enhanced. He stated that cooperation in industrial sector will further strengthen bilateral partnership between the two countries.
The Minister said this while addressing a CPEC Forum on “Regional Cooperation and Industrial development through B2B Cooperation” here in Islamabad on Friday. Deputy Chairman Senate Saleem Mandvi wala, Chinese ambassador Yao Jing, Project Director CPEC Hassan Daud and representatives from different private sectors and seniors government officials were also attended the seminar.

Pakistan and China have signed several Memorandums of Understanding for cooperation in different sectors.

The signing ceremony was held in Islamabad on Sunday which was attended by Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chinese Vice Prime Minister Wang Qishan.

These MoUs include cooperation in economic and technical affairs, Disaster Management and assistance in agriculture sector of Lasbella University.

Meanwhile, the two leaders launched and unveiled the plaques of the four mega development projects in the fields of energy, technology and education under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
