Key Field Considerations for Installation
When managing or supervising the installation of these RCC pipes, keep the following critical factors in mind:
Bedding Preparation: Ensure the trench bed is properly leveled and compacted. Providing a uniform sand or lean concrete bedding prevents concentrated point loads that could crack the pipe after backfilling.
Jointing: Since these appear to be flush-joint or spigot-and-socket type pipes, ensuring watertight joints using cement mortar (1:2 ratio) or rubber gaskets is essential to prevent leakage and soil piping.
