SHELTERS is proud to be designing and constructing a 50,000 potato bags capacity cold storage project in Punjab — one of the major industrial cold storage projects of its kind.

This project is based on a modern Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) structure and is currently in the foundation stage, where excavation and column pouring work has started.

A cold storage facility is not just about building a shed. It requires complete coordination between architecture, structural design, HVAC planning, insulation strategy, foundation work, and long-term operational efficiency.

For this project, Shelters is handling the complete design and construction scope, including:

• Architectural planning
• Structural design
• HVAC coordination
• PEB structure planning
• Foundation and civil works
• Complete site ex*****on

Cold storage projects demand precision because every design decision affects temperature control, energy consumption, maintenance cost, and storage performance.

At Shelters Engineering Services, we deliver industrial and agricultural infrastructure projects with engineering-focused planning and ex*****on.

How can we minimize MEP changes during interior ex*****on?

I asked Architect Bilal Jamil about one of the most common site challenges — last-minute changes in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC during finishing stage.

Because good planning at the design stage can save time, cost, and rework on site.

A project is not just built. It’s experienced.

This 6 Kanal marquee project on Bedian Road is designed as a complete destination, not just a venue. From day one, the idea was simple — create a place where arrival, movement, and the event itself all feel connected.

The site is divided into two parts:
4 Kanal for the marquee
2 Kanal for a private residence

The planning is focused on how people move. From the main entrance, guests are guided through a defined driveway, towards a central feature, and then into a double-height entrance that sets the tone of the space.

The architecture follows a neoclassical style — clean, symmetrical, and timeless. But beyond looks, everything is planned with purpose.

Inside, there are two halls (98 × 68 ft) designed to host events simultaneously, without disturbing each other. One of the main challenges was to maintain symmetry while managing services and circulation — and that’s where detailed planning makes the difference.

At night, the whole structure changes with lighting — highlighting the design and giving it a completely different feel.

This is more than just a marquee project. It’s about planning, scale, and ex*****on done right.

Why are steel sheds / Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) the first choice for industrial projects?

Faster construction, optimized structural design, lower cost, and efficient large-span coverage make PEB structures ideal for warehouses, factories, and industrial facilities.

In this video, we break down the key advantages and real pricing factors of steel shed construction in Pakistan.

Designed to be experienced, not just seen.
A 360° interior for Mr. Amjad’s residence in Top City where clean lines, controlled lighting, and seamless transitions define the space.

Because in modern design, the real luxury is simplicity done right.
Ar. Bilal Jamil.

Architectural Journey:
This project was approached with a clear objective:
to create a space that performs in motion, not just in static views.
Since the client experience is through a 360° walkthrough, the design avoids isolated focal points and instead builds a continuous spatial narrative.
The planning focuses on:
Visual continuity across walls, ceilings, and flooring
Clean geometric alignment to maintain order from every angle
Balanced negative space to avoid visual clutter in motion
Material selection plays a defining role. A restrained palette of neutral tones, matte finishes, and subtle textures ensures that the space feels cohesive rather than fragmented. Reflective surfaces are used selectively to enhance depth without overwhelming the composition.
Lighting is treated as an architectural layer rather than an accessory:
Indirect cove lighting softens edges and defines volumes
Spot lighting highlights key surfaces without creating harsh contrast
Even illumination ensures the space reads consistently in a full 360° sweep
One of the main design challenges was maintaining visual discipline from all viewpoints. In a 360 environment, there is no “back side” or hidden wall every edge, joint, and transition must resolve cleanly.
This was addressed by:
Eliminating unnecessary design breaks
Keeping detailing minimal but precise
Ensuring material continuity across planes
The final outcome is a modern interior that feels effortless, refined, and immersive.a space that doesn’t rely on statement elements, but instead on proportion, light, and clarity.

“Masons only care about daily wages, not quality work.”

Is this really true?

From our site experience, quality comes from proper supervision, clear instructions, and mutual respect. Skilled labor performs best when the system around them is strong.

What’s your experience on site?

Where symmetry meets silence.

This is not luxury through excess.
This is luxury through proportion, discipline, and control.

Architectural journey:

The design of this drawing and dinning room began with a single idea: controlled symmetry as a spatial experience.
The room is organized along a strong central axis, immediately visible upon entry. This axis is reinforced through:
A centered chandelier acting as a visual anchor
Balanced furniture placement forming a conversational core
Vertical paneling and curtain rhythm enhancing height and proportion
Rather than relying on bold colors, the palette is intentionally muted—warm beiges, soft taupes, and deep earthy accents—allowing materiality and texture to define the space.

The tufted seating introduces a classical undertone, while the cleaner silhouettes and curated décor elements bring in a contemporary restraint. This contrast ensures the space feels timeless rather than theme-based.

Lighting plays a critical role:
Ambient ceiling lighting highlights the layered ceiling detail.
Soft lamp lighting creates human-scale warmth.
The chandelier defines hierarchy without overwhelming the room
One of the key challenges was avoiding visual heaviness despite the classical vocabulary. This was resolved by:
Keeping vertical elements light and elongated.
Using fabric layering instead of solid mass
Introducing sculptural art pieces to break rigidity.
The result is a space that feels composed, calm, and quietly luxurious—where every element belongs, and nothing competes.
