Three plots in the same society can have three completely different prices — and not because of size or location. Because of which stage they are in.

Open file: you have paid into a society. No plot number yet. Cheapest, longest wait, highest risk.
Balloted: a plot number is assigned to your file. Visible on the map. Still cannot build.
Possession: roads, utilities, possession letter in hand. Start construction today.

The mistake most investors make is comparing rupee prices without comparing stages. A "cheap" file in a society that has not balloted in years is not cheap. A possession plot priced higher than the balloted one next door is often the safer buy.

Before paying token on any plot in Lahore, ask the dealer one question: is this an open file, balloted, or possession plot? If the answer is not clean and one word, you are not ready to transact.

"Possession letter" sounds simple. It isn't.

It's the document that turns a DHA file into a real, usable plot. Without it, you can't build, you can't sell at full price, and you can't transfer cleanly to anyone.

Four documents people regularly mix up:

• Allocation — a plot number is reserved against your name
• Intimation — DHA says possession is being processed
• Possession — the plot is physically yours
• Transfer — ownership has moved to a new buyer

Only possession unlocks the real rights. Before you accept one:

→ Plot number on the letter matches your file
→ Stamp and signature verified at the DHA office in person
→ A clearance certificate confirms no dues are left

Skip these checks and the letter is paper, not proof.
