One of our letters was sent to Billy’s museum on Gilford Island, located north of Vancouver, Canada.

Billy, who passed away this spring at the age of 94, lived for many years on Gilford Island, far from civilization. Without a driver’s license, he dedicated his life to collecting objects washed ashore and displaying them in his unique museum. One of the last items to be exhibited there may have been the Nieporównik sign.

We were contacted by Maeve Bentz, a researcher staying nearby on the island. Maeve visited Billy’s museum and wanted to hear more about how the Nieporównik Line has sparked an unlikely constellation of connections!
Maeve is working independently on audio documentaries focused on community building in remote places. Through the Nieporównik Line, she will soon be connected with another ambassador of the Line: Dave Hik from the Arctic Canadian Research Center.
The Line is doing well !
Thank you so much, Maeve!
