My friend came back from Vieques a few days ago and sent some pictures. The house is in good condition with no structural damage that we know of. Lots of debris cleanup. No pictures of inside yet. The first picture is pre storms.

So many have asked about our care takers, saw this message from their daughter today and wanted to share:

Update on Mimi and Joe: my grandmother received a call today from a friend of my moms today. Her friend left Vieques early this morning as far as I know they are not planning to leave. Mom and Dad are fine, the house looks good, and they are safe. Food and water and fuel are being delivered, and no one that she knows of is hungry or in desperate need of water. Roads are slowly being cleared, but it will be a LONG while before things are "normal." And as,no surprise to anyone, she said they are 2 of the most resourceful people she's ever met. 😜 I will continue to update as I hear more info. Please keep Vieques in your thoughts and prayers, thanks you all for the inquiries and concern, and PLEASE consider donating to . They have done and are continuing to do amazing things for the place my parents and so many others call home.

Hello Pura Vida Friends
Your resident handyman (me) is planning projects for my upcoming trip and wanted to poll our friends and past guests to see what your suggestions are.

We were planning on putting another TV at the house, a larger one in the Master bedroom, and moving the existing to another room. Would you prefer a TV mounted in the living room or a bedroom?

Some other improvements on the schedule are new front porch steps, some additional lighting in rooms, and other fixes here and there.

Any other suggestions?

2015 is off to a great start, reports are from guests at the house the water is warm, people are friendly and the Medalla is cold. We are receiving inquiries and bookings for the summer of 2015, and even a few inquiries for next February 2016! Doesn't hurt to inquire about 2016 dates now if you know what you want.

A number of hotels in Puerto Rico are offering Tax Day specials. The W Retreat & Spa on Vieques Island will be giving free 10-minute, 40-second spa treatments by the pool on April 15, and guests will receive a complimentary green cocktail "as a toast to green returns."
