The PICD objectives:
1- Enhancing the respect of freedom of expression, and grantee the right of free opinions and beliefs for all.
2- strengthen the public's right to know, the right of access to information, and broadcast it.
3- Follow up the violations against the freedom of expression and opinion, and the freedom of journalism, which guaranteed in the law especially the Intellectual propert
y.
4- Respect the principles of human rights, and enhance it within media.
5- promote the values of tolerance, brotherhood and equality among people, and keeping the community .
6- work on the development of vocational and raise the level of professionalism, and enhance the independence of the Palestinian press, and development, to contribute to building a free and democratic society.
7- Work to protect the rights of journalists and strengthen the role of journalists syndicate in particular.
8- Contribute to the development of laws and legislation related to the journalism and the media and public freedoms.
أهداف المعهد:
1. العمل على تعزيز احترام حرية الرأي وضمان الحق في التعبير الحر عن الآراء والمعتقدات لكل إنسان.
2. العمل على تعزيز حق الجمهور في المعرفة، وحق الوصول إلى المعلومات، وتداولها.
3. العمل على متابعة أي انتهاكات لحرية الرأي والتعبير، وحرية الصحافة المكفولة قانوناً، لاسيما الحق في الملكية الفكرية.
4. العمل على احترام مبادئ حقوق الإنسان، وتعزيزها في العمل الإعلامي.
5. العمل على تعزيز قيم التسامح والإخاء والمساواة بين الناس، والسلم المجتمعي.
6. العمل على تطوير الواقع المهني ورفع مستوى الكفاءة المهنية، وتعزيز استقلالية الصحافة الفلسطينية، وتطويرها، للإسهام في بناء المجتمع الحر الديمقراطي.
7. العمل على حماية حقوق الصحفيين وتعزيز الدور النقابي في هذا الإطار.
8. المساهمة في تطوير القوانين والتشريعات ذات العلاقة بمهنة الصحافة ووسائل الإعلام المختلفة والحريات العامة.
