The race to Dubai heads to the Algarve.Thomas Pieters win his fifth European Tour title at the 2021, Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course, for the return of this year's Portugal Masters.

Thomas entered the day in a share of the lead with Frenchman Matthieu Pavon and the duo played out an enthralling battle right to the last in Vilamoura.

We would like to inform you that the 2021 Annual State Budget brought some tax changes for the Short Term Rentals Activity, namely:
Sole Trader Activity Capital Gains
– (Law nr 75 – B/2020 )

The good news are that the rules for Capital Gains applicable to Sole Traders has changed. The Capital Gain that was by simply closing the sole trading activity no longer applies.

Should you decide to sell the property within the 3 years after closing the Sole Trading activity, the Capital Gain is still calculated by different rules, meaning that most expenses are not deductible, although the tax rate is 25% instead of 28%. The values considered for purchase and sale are the effective ones that occurred , and not the amount defined as market value once you opened or closed the activity.

If you sell 3 years after closing the Sole Trading activity, the Capital Gain will be calculated according with the standard rules of Capital Gains Tax.
VAT Threshold Updated - Article Nr 53 of the VAT Tax Code

The VAT Threshold for the Short Term Rental Activity has been updated to 12.500,00 €. This means that you will only be obligated to be subject to VAT if your Annual Gross income exceed this amount in the previous tax year.
