Villa Borboleta was a fabulous vacation for my sisters, cousins and girlfriends. Marie and Ray were amazing hosts and were attentive to all our needs. I highly recommend anyone looking for a clean, comfortable and relaxing villa for a group to stay at Villa Borboleta. The villa fit all our needs for plenty of rooms, bathrooms, comfortable relaxation areas including the pool, terrace and dining areas. The kitchen was clean and well equipped. We loved relaxing by the pool and taking sunrise/sunset pictures on the top terrace. The villa is a quick walk to town and close restaurants. It was really easy to get Ubers/taxis/car services to nearby towns like Portimao, Silves, Tavira, Monchique, etc. The location of the villa is perfect for exploring the Algarve. I can’t wait to go back to Villa Borboleta. Thank you Marie and Ray!!!

Great property with large number of excellent facilities both inside and out. The large booze fridge was much appreciated and unexpected.. Lovely location and the walk into town took us around 12 mins and if you don’t fancy walking back the taxis and uber are plentiful and cheap. Marie was lovely and a great laugh.

After a late flight, we were greeted with a friendly welcome by Marie and Ray, the hosts, they took us thru the villa explaining what was what, went thru all the formalities and then left us to it.
Also leaving us a welcome pack to tide us over till we went shopping in the morning.
As for the Villa. Wow! what a place! more than enough room for our party of 13. The villa was spotless! Huge lounge, a big kitchen with everything in it. Bedrooms very nice, all en suite, some leading on to the swimming pool terrace. Also games, loads of books,Table Tennis table for the kids. Outside a beautiful swimming pool, with Parasols and sun beds for everyone ,BBQ Area outside ,verandas lovely at meal times in the shade and gardens. The area where the Villa is, is really quiet, amongst other Villas two local shops 10 minute walk,a really big supermarket not far either.
A 10 minute walk to the small town and beach, it really is a beautiful area, lots of attractions close by.
We all enjoyed it very much and hoping to go back in the not too distant future. We would again, like to thank Marie and Ray again for everything they did, nothing was too much trouble.
Chris,Jane and all the family.

We booked the villa for a special whole family stay for 10 of us, six adults and four children and the property lived up to our expectations! Plenty of room, clean and good sized bedrooms all with en suite, an excellent sized swimming pool and separate children’s pool which were used extensively. A 15 minute walk down in to the town where there were plentiful restaurants and a good beach. More excellent restaurants in a small square were a ten minute walk on the level. Marie was a great host meeting my son and family on arrival and returning to meet the rest of us later after our delayed arrival. We would thoroughly recommend Villa Borboleta for larger groups and plan to return one day for another special holiday or celebration.

As a group of 14 (including 2 small children) we had a wonderful stay at Borboleta. The villa was spotlessly clean and all amenities were in place for a wonderfully relaxing stay. The hosts were lovely and communication was great. We paid to have the pool heated and felt it was definitely worthwhile, especially for the little ones.We found the mattresses a little firm for us, but of course that may suit some people. Not a criticism at all, just an observation. We had some lovely meals nearby, Black Salt was particularly good.We had the most fantastic week and would most definitely return to Borboleta.Thank you to Marie and Ray for your hospitality and letting us stay in your wonderful villa.

Stayed for 1 week in June 2026.
13 ladies on a birthday holiday. The villa was amazing. Plenty of space for all. Enough bathrooms with no hot water issues. Space around the pool was more than adequate to allow all to sunbathe without being on top of each other, and there were enough sun umbrellas to give shade for those who required it. The pool is checked/clraned daily. The hosts were the best, helpful and informative about the area. Smooth check-in. They allowed us to store our luggage after check-out as we had a late flight home. Definitely the best villa we have stayed in and would highly recommend. We hope to return. Thank you for sharing your beautiful villa with us.

Stunning villa, absolutely perfect for our group. Large, clean pool and pool area, including baby pool. Rooms are spacious and really nice. The whole villa is really well equipped, especially the kitchen. Everything you need is there. The hosts Marie and Aurelio were so helpful before and during our stay and went out of their way to ensure we had a great time.. We will definitely be coming back!
