BATHING BAN ON THREE BEACHES AT OEIRAS
The beaches of Caxias, Santo Amaro de Oeiras and Paço de Arcos have been closed to bathing since Friday, after water quality analyzes revealed microbiological values above the reference parameters, the National Maritime Authority revealed today.
After receiving information from the analyzes carried out by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA), which advised against going to the beaches of Caxias, Santo Amaro de Oeiras and Paço de Arcos, the captain of Porto and local commander of the Maritime Police of Lisbon gave instructions to that the red flag be hoisted, and the Oeiras City Council posted notices on the accesses to the beach, prohibiting bathing.
"This ban will remain in place until the results of the new water quality analyzes indicate that the microbiological values are within the reference parameters", explains the National Maritime Authority.
