Its been a while since we last posted and that was due to security concerns.... Now that's no longer a problem, we'll start posting both here and on our new YouTube channel..... but in the meantime, here's a waterfall just across the road from us to dream away some time.....

At long last we made it to our new home town in the mountains.

We will be posting more up to date videos, bioth on Facebook and Youtube as soon as tghe braodband is connected. The cost of data in Portugal on our UK phone is very very high, but keep watching and soon we'll be adding more.....

At last w arrived at our new home and as soon as we can get broadband installed, we'll start to add more content on a regular basis, together with videos on Youtube...

Sadly the reminants of the hurricane than we so luckily avoided across the Bay of Biscay met us as we drove south and unlike the usual greeting of the blue sky and mountain views we were travelling through heavy downpours. So much, that at times we had to slow down to a crawl as the rain was too much for the windscreen wipers to cope with......

So we headed through Spain and the roads were very easy to drive on and certainly less crowded than the UK. After around four hours we counted down to the border crossing..... and we arrived in Portugal.

So we landed in Santander and we said farewell to the Galicia and ventured onto the Spanish highways on route to Portugal.

We're behind in posting updates as we've been so busy getting settled in.

However, here's the moment we landed in Santander..... the start of our journey to a new life in Portugal.... but first the topuchdown moment

For those who have never crossed the Bay of Biscay, it can be very very unpleasant. The Atlantic swell can often roll ships during the crossing resulting in side to side rolling, which is one of the worst sea crossings you can get.

But the Hurricane which was to hit us on the crossing dipped swiftly south towards Lisbon and we had an amazing crossing and the dolphins played on the bow to entertain us....

During our crossing, we decided to say goodbye to the past and head towards our new life by throwing our keys to the past into the sea....

At last we got underway after a trying few days packing... we finished at 7.30pm and then drove straight to Portsmouth and arrived just after midnight... then after having a Covid test due to us driving through Spain we relaxed for the rest of the day in readiness for the ferry crossing to Santander...

and off we went...
