New legal update for Alojamento Local owners in Portugal.

If you’re non-resident and operate as a sole trader, you must register for VAT starting July 1st, 2025, even if you make less than €15,000 per year.

This means charging 6% VAT on bookings and submitting monthly or quarterly VAT returns.
