🌊 Meet Pedro, a familiar face in Praia da Luz since 1985.

When Pedro's grandparents arrived from Mozambique and settled in Praia da Luz, his family followed. What began as a family connection soon became a lifelong love for this little corner of the Algarve.

Growing up surrounded by the beach, the iconic black rocks, and the endless blue of the Atlantic, Praia da Luz became home in every sense.

In 2009, Pedro took over LuzBay. At the time, it wasn't necessarily part of his plan — but looking back, it feels like the natural continuation of a story deeply rooted in this place.

What he enjoys most isn't just the properties — it's the people. Meeting them, helping them, and sharing with them the village he's loved for four decades.

After 15 years of running LuzBay, we asked him what has changed the most.
💬 "Before, you could clearly feel the difference between high season and low season. Nowadays you can't — it's more or less always alive with people, and the restaurants stay open."
