Eleven years later, back where it started.
In 2015, attended the first Monocle Quality of Life Conference in Lisbon — an experience that would become an important turning point in his relationship with Portugal.

This year, he returned as a Monocle Patron, CEO of Maia Properties, and now calling Lisbon home.

Last weekend marked the end of the 8th in Belo Horizonte, and I’m still smiling when I think about everything we experienced during those few days.

It was far more than a tournament. It was a celebration of sport, friendship and community, bringing together people who share the same values of dedication, respect and generosity.

It was also inspiring to see so many people come together in support of such an important cause. When sport has the power to unite people and make a real difference beyond the court, everyone wins.
