Two Houses to Restore in Alentejo 🌿
In the heart of the Serra de São Mamede Natural Park, in Upper Alentejo, where granite boulders rest among ancient cork oaks and olive trees, two homes wait patiently to be brought back to life.
Traces of past rural life still linger within their walls, preserved in details like an open-air stone water basin and a traditional wood oven.
Spanning 1.55 hectares (3.8 acres) enclosed by old dry-stone walls and bordered by a gentle stream, both houses look directly out to the silhouette of Marvão Castle, one of Portugal’s most iconic medieval villages near the Spanish border.
