Important Updates to Portugal's NHR Tax Regime in 2024! 📢

👋 The 2024 budget bill is generating discussion in the Portuguese Parliament, ushering in significant modifications to the Non-Habitual Resident (NHR) tax scheme. Starting on January 1, 2024, new applicants will no longer have access to the current NHR benefits. However, it's crucial to note that those who are already receiving these benefits will remain unaffected by the impending changes.

🌟 Welcome the 'new NHR' regime, a tailored approach designed to benefit specific professionals such as professors, researchers, and individuals engaged in investment and research and development roles, holding a doctorate-level qualification. Beginning in 2024, these professionals will enjoy a 20% tax rate on their Portuguese income and will be relieved of foreign income taxes.

💸 Furthermore, individuals becoming tax residents in Portugal in 2024 will receive a favorable 50% income tax exemption for five years, capped at €250,000. This presents a unique opportunity for those considering Portuguese residency. To secure NHR benefits for a full decade, initiating the process before December 31, 2023 is advisable. Alternatively, newcomers can explore the appealing 50% tax break available to fresh residents.

🚀 Seize the opportunity to optimize your tax benefits! Stay tuned for the latest updates on NHR tax regime changes and leverage the advantages of the new NHR framework. 🇵🇹 &D 💰📊🇵🇹
