The Lobo Marinho is the passenger ferry operated by Porto Santo Line, connecting Funchal (Madeira) to Porto Santo Island.
Journey time: approximately 2 hours 30 minutes.
Departure: Port of Funchal.
Destination: Porto Santo, famous for its long sandy beach.
Passengers: You can travel with or without a vehicle.

✝️ Senhor dos Milagres in Machico
The tradition is connected to the great flood (aluvião) of 9 October 1803, which devastated Machico. The original chapel was badly damaged and a crucifix was swept out to sea. According to the tradition, the image was recovered three days later, almost intact, and this became associated with the name Senhor dos Milagres — “Lord of Miracles.”

A tradição do Senhor dos Milagres, em Machico, está profundamente ligada à devastadora aluvião de 9 de outubro de 1803, uma das maiores catástrofes naturais da história da Madeira.

Durante a aluvião, a antiga Capela dos Milagres ficou gravemente danificada, e a imagem sagrada de Cristo foi arrastada pelas águas violentas até ao mar.

Segundo a tradição local, três dias depois, a imagem foi recuperada, praticamente intacta. A sua sobrevivência foi vista pelo povo de Machico como um milagre divino, dando origem à devoção e ao nome Senhor dos Milagres.
