Launchpads are ideal for: • Exploring Portugal while considering a part-time or permanent move • Waiting for residency or other necessary paperwork • Housing gaps, such as looking for a long-term apartment rental, home purchase, or home renovation Launchpads are: • Less expensive than Airbnb, Home Away and similar volume-rentals on a per-night basis • All yours…not a co-share or home that someone vacated while you use it nor space in another person’s home • Less hassle than a long-term apartment contract: no fiadors (a Portuguese citizen guarantor required for long-term rentals), no 3-6 months' rent deposit, no utility set-up • Fully furnished in a clean, light, modern style, with everything needed for “more than” a holiday stay • All utilities, wifi inclusive • Features a local resources “guide book” of resources and tips • In areas where you can “test drive” real living in Portugal, avoiding the noise and crush of tourist areas • Close proximity to public transport and necessities, e.g. grocers, restaurants, cafes, parks, traditional markets, pharmacy, ATMs • Showcase Portuguese design and brands of products and artists we know and love • Pet-friendly (some) • Non-smoking (within the apartment) • Payable by monthly bank transfer as you would a longterm rental apartment • By Portuguese law, a legally rentable apartment, with "paper contract" in PT/EN and payment receipts Launchpads are not: • For tourist or students • For less than 1 month, or for some apartments, 3 months', rental • Room rents or shared spaces; they cannot be subcontracted or sublet to non-contracted renters during the contracted time • For children under age 10
