This month, Meet Our Culture begins with a very special welcome.

Rita Quintas joins Host Wise as Fractional COO, bringing extensive experience in leadership, operations, and scaling businesses, developed largely at Sword Health, where she held roles including Chief of Staff to the CEO and Vice President of Operations.

With a background in Biomedical Engineering, Rita combines analytical thinking with a highly practical approach to people, processes, and decision-making.

Since joining us, she has been helping Host Wise grow with more structure and clarity, while protecting what matters most: our agility, our standards, and the culture behind the business.

Her approach can be summed up in one word: ownership. Looking at the bigger picture, taking responsibility and turning challenges into solutions with a real and lasting impact.

Beyond operations, Rita has a strong connection to volunteering and social impact. Outside work, the formula is slightly different: beach, beach tennis, Rio de Janeiro, and whenever possible, samba or pagode.

Our fourth apartment at Douro Nobilis comes with a particularly good story. 🚀

The owner had already invested with us once through our guaranteed fixed-income model. This is now the second property we are managing for the same client.

It is also the second interior design project we have developed at Douro Nobilis. While a few final pieces are still due to arrive over the coming weeks, the apartment has already been carefully shaped and positioned for the market from the outset.

The result is a two-bedroom apartment with one feature that is difficult to ignore: a private heated pool on the balcony, overlooking the city skyline and the Dom Luís I Bridge.

It is an unusual apartment, in the best possible way. 👏

And a very clear example of what can happen when a client decides not only to invest again, but to do it with the same team.

Meet João Silva, our new Forward Deployed Engineer.

João began his career at Airbnb before joining Sword, where he spent several years working across Technical Support, Strategy & Operations, QA, and Product. From leading technical support initiatives and building internal documentation to automating operational processes and improving product quality, he's developed a rare ability to connect technology with real operational needs.

Outside work, you'll probably find him with a guitar in his hands, following football (thanks to Football Manager), or adding to the surprisingly long list of times he's managed to hit his head.
