10 years of Host Wise 💙

Last week, part of our team headed to the Algarve to celebrate a decade of stories, growth and learning.

From a sunset in Portimão to a session focused on improving the guest experience, stories from our co-founders, a celebratory lunch and some time by the sea, it was a few days to look back, learn together and enjoy how far we’ve come.

Not every new property starts with a blank page. This one almost did.

Completely renovated, furnished, and decorated from scratch, our latest addition in Porto is a four-bedroom apartment created with families and groups in mind, with the space and comfort that are not always easy to find in the city.

This month, we highlight Sandra Valente and a value she represents with remarkable consistency: Customer Care Champion.

As part of our Regional Operations team, Sandra oversees Noronha Lima Boutique Hotel, a property she knows particularly well. Her connection to the space predates Host Wise’s management, giving her a rare understanding of its history, character, and day-to-day operation.

What defines her most, however, is the way she receives people.

Sandra brings a level of attention, warmth, and presence that guests consistently notice. It is reflected in the reviews, in the details they remember and, above all, in the feeling of being genuinely looked after.

That same instinct extends beyond work. Family, especially her granddaughters, plays a central role in her life, reinforcing something that comes naturally to her: caring for people with intention.

For us, that is the essence of Customer Care Champion. Not simply being available, but making every interaction feel considered, personal, and sincere.

We are proud to announce our new partnership with Clube Desportivo Vilarense, supporting its senior football team for the 2026/2027 season.

And this one is particularly close to home.

Vilar dos Prazeres, in Ourém, is the hometown of our Founder & CEO, Renato Chainho. It is where part of his story began, which makes supporting a club so deeply connected to the local community especially meaningful to us.

CD Vilarense is entering a new chapter with the return of its senior team, a project designed not only to compete, but to reconnect the club with its people, strengthen its identity, and bring new life to matchdays in Vilar dos Prazeres.

At Host Wise, we have always believed that meaningful growth should also create value beyond our own business. Sometimes, that means supporting a project with ambition. Sometimes, it means giving something back to a place that has been part of the journey from the very beginning.

In this case, it means both.

Almost three months ago, Bruna Marinho joined Host Wise as part of our Customer Success team.

Her role is focused on supporting a portfolio of owners and investors, following their experience closely, understanding their needs, and helping keep communication clear and consistent throughout the relationship.

Before joining us, Bruna built her career in Customer Experience and client management at Stone, in Brazil, where she progressed to Senior Specialist. That background now brings valuable experience in portfolio management, retention, performance, and long-term client relationships.

Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Bruna is also a Formula 1 fan, enjoys painting and writing, loves travelling, and has a 13-hour Taylor Swift playlist, which feels like a commitment worth mentioning.

Three months in, and Bruna is already very much part of the team. 👏
