Educational Farm (Quinta Pedagógica dos Prazeres) is a place with a rural charm, it gives a feeling that you are visiting a grandmother in a village. Kids love this place, as sheep, donkeys, pigs, goats are very welcoming and waiting for their little friends to give some corn, which you can buy just before the entrance in a cozy tea house. There is a small playground in the middle of the farm, so it is a perfect place even with a small kids.
We recommend combining trip to educational farm with bare foot walk. The entrance to the farm is very symbolic - 1eur per adult.

Barefoot walk (in Prazeres, next to the Hotel Jardim Atlántico) is a lovely activity, which all your family will enjoy. For more sensitive family members it might be a bit challenging, as not everyone can stand walking on the sharp stones and cones. But… it creates so much positive emotions watching your beloved ones struggling 😊. And, the views around are sooo stunning that I recommend walking slower and look around and down 😉… enjoy every step, as the path is not so long (around 30 minutes). After a while you will forget the spiking feet, and, in the end, you will feel how your mind is thankful for the braveness.

By the way, Prazeres means "pleasures", so no surprise, that you can rent a car and plan the whole day there. We recommend combining this walk together with visiting Prazeres town, Educational farm and house of Cidra.
Smart tip: if you want to visit Educational farm - plan your trip on weekends. But locals love to go there as well, so plan your time back wisely, 17-19 is usually traffic jam time.

Cristo Rei beach is one of very special places, where you can let your imagination fly over the waves. It is just 15 minutes’ walk from the flat, we call it “Jesus beach”, as you can find a little version of Rio de Janeiro’s Jesus there. To reach there you can either walk in serpentine down, but it will take a little longer or experience 2 minutes steep ride with a cable car (3eur per adult). It is exciting and breathtaking trip and afterwards something different happens, waves attract full your attention with their energy, volcanic mountains are so close to you that it feels like they hug you, the sound of little stones rolling over the ocean hypnotizes for eternity. You can stay there for a while, there is a bar with Wi-Fi, if you feel like having a snack or want to share some nice views and happiness with your friends. Moreover, there is a diving center, if you feel like discovering underwater. Spend a little bit more time in “Jesus” beach and bring that unique serenity home.
