On time. On budget. And a waste of both?

What if delivering a project exactly as planned doesn’t necessarily mean it delivered the value that was needed?

In our latest BCCQ Member Insight, Kayleigh Basford explores the difference between inside-out and outside-in organisations, and why businesses need to look beyond internal processes and measures of success to consider the people, customers and stakeholders they are ultimately serving.

It’s a thought-provoking read, and one that connects closely with the conversations we want to bring to our events.

On 7 October, Kayleigh will join us at Al Messila for an interactive session on stress, occupational burnout and workplace wellbeing, combining practical insight with relaxed networking.

We’re proud to have members like Kayleigh who are willing to share their knowledge and expertise with the wider BCCQ network, giving us all the opportunity to learn something we can take back to the workplace.

Supporting our members means helping them access the knowledge and expertise that matter to their businesses.

We were pleased to support the third edition of Doha Arbitration Days, bringing together more than 500 judges, arbitrators, counsel, experts and academics from Qatar and beyond.

The event explored the evolving relationship between arbitration and the courts, commercial disputes, and how the profession is responding to a changing business environment.

We were particularly pleased to receive a note of thanks from Dr Saad Al-Muhannadi, Chairman of Ciarb Qatar Branch, who highlighted the alignment between our organisations:

“Both bodies work at the meeting point of UK and Qatari professional practice.”

Ciarb has also expressed an interest in building on the relationship through future briefings and training opportunities for BCCQ members.

We look forward to continuing the conversation and creating further opportunities for our members to access specialist knowledge and expertise.

An evening of networking, with a twist.

On 7 October, we’re pleased to welcome Kayleigh Basford to BCCQ for an honest and practical conversation around stress, occupational burnout and workplace wellbeing, during our evening networking.

As a Chamber, supporting our BCCQ members means more than creating business connections. It also means recognising the importance of the people behind the businesses we represent in our membership.

In recognition of World Mental Health Day on 10 October, Kayleigh will hold a 40-minute interactive session, where she will share practical insight into recognising the difference between stress and burnout, alongside her own experience of navigating stress and recovery.

Expect an evening combining relaxed networking, good conversation and practical insight — with the opportunity to take something useful back into your workplace.

Ticket prices include entry to the event with 1 drink voucher, hot & cold small bites and soft drinks, juices & water for the duration of the event. There will be a cash bar + BCCQ Happy Hour menu throughout the evening

We look forward to welcoming you on 7 October 2026 at Al Messila, Doha - 5:30PM start.

Whether you’re joining us as a BCCQ member, bringing a colleague or simply looking for an evening that offers something a little different, we’d love to see you there.

Tickets available via the link in our bio under Upcoming Events.

Strong relationships with organisations that shape the UK–Qatar business landscape are an important part of the BCCQ role.

Our continued relationship with the British Embassy provides BCCQ with a valuable base within the Embassy and supports regular engagement with colleagues across the diplomatic and business environment. This day-to-day connection enables us to share insight, maintain open channels of communication and, where appropriate, connect our members with relevant people, organisations and opportunities.

We are also pleased to be strengthening our relationship with Invest Qatar, by establishing a BCCQ office presence within its new Lusail offices. This provides another practical opportunity for closer engagement with the investment and business ecosystem in Qatar, building on the joint work undertaken earlier this year around UK–Qatar trade and investment in our joint report.

For BCCQ, these relationships are not simply about having access to a network. They help us develop a programme that brings people together and responds to the needs of our business community.

Throughout 2026, we have continued to develop a programme combining networking with business insight, sector-specific discussion and opportunities to engage with organisations and individuals who can add value to our members.

As we enter the final quarter of the year, we will continue to develop this approach, including more focused, industry-specific events and smaller discussions shaped by the conversations we are having with our network.

It was particularly fitting that our Celebration Evening brought these relationships together, with Duncan Hill OBE, Deputy Ambassador at the British Embassy Doha, and Aalia Al-Khater, Investment Development Officer at Invest Qatar, joining us as guest speakers.

We are grateful to both organisations for their continued support and engagement as BCCQ develops its role and looks ahead to the next stage of its work.

We look forward to continuing to bring our network together and creating further opportunities for our members to engage, exchange insight and build meaningful business relationships.

More of the people behind BCCQ.

One post simply wasn't enough.

With so many of our members and sponsor partners joining us for the Celebration Evening, we wanted to keep sharing some of the faces that make up the BCCQ network.

From established organisations and professional services firms to growing businesses and individuals working across a wide range of sectors, our members are at the heart of BCCQ.

So here are a few more of the people who joined us to celebrate this next chapter.

And to everyone who came along — thank you for being part of BCCQ.

We are looking forward to continuing to build the Chamber with you.

The people behind BCCQ

Our Celebration Evening was about marking an important milestone for BCCQ, but most importantly, it was about bringing together the people who make the Chamber what it is.

More than 150 members and sponsor partners joined us at Park Hyatt Doha, reflecting the breadth of businesses and professionals that make up our growing network.

Today, BCCQ represents 250+ members and 120 organisations across a wide range of sectors and business interests.

But a Chamber is about more than numbers.

It is the people in the room.
The expertise they share.
The conversations they contribute to.
The introductions they make.
The opportunities that come from being part of the network.

To every organisation and individual who has chosen to be part of BCCQ — thank you.

Your membership, participation and support are what give the Chamber its value.

Schools & Industry: Building the Future Together

What happens when the classroom meets the real world?

Our latest BCCQ Thought Leadership article explores how schools and businesses can work together to give young people meaningful exposure to future careers and the world of work.

From industry workshops and mentoring to internships and mock interviews, these experiences can help pupils build skills, confidence and career insight — while giving businesses an opportunity to engage with and inspire the next generation of talent.

In this article, Elodie Jugue, Deputy Head, Futures at King’s College Doha, shares how the school is developing these partnerships across sectors including sport, creative industries, business and law.

A valuable perspective on the role that education and industry can play together in developing Qatar's future workforce.

Celebrating BCCQ

On Thursday evening, more than 150 members and sponsor partners joined us at Park Hyatt Doha for an evening marking the continued development of the British Chamber of Commerce Qatar.

Since becoming BCCQ in January, we have been building on the foundations of the Qatar British Business Forum and developing a programme focused on practical value for businesses across our growing membership.

It was a pleasure to celebrate that progress alongside our members, sponsor partners, the British Embassy Doha and Invest Qatar.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to support the development of BCCQ.

A week on from the Deloitte VAT & E-Invoicing Breakfast Forum, we’re pleased to look back on a valuable morning of focused industry discussion with our members and business community.

On 9 September, members of the business community in Qatar came together for a breakfast forum focused on VAT and e-invoicing, held by Deloitte in collaboration with British Chamber of Commerce Qatar, German Industry and Commerce Office Qatar, and the German Business Council Qatar at JW Marriott Marquis City Center Doha.

The session focused on the latest developments, lessons from implementation across the region, and the practical considerations for preparing systems, processes and operations for potential changes ahead.

A sincere thank you to Deloitte for sponsoring the breakfast forum and making this specialist session available to BCCQ members. We greatly value the opportunity to bring relevant expertise and practical business insight directly to our membership.

Our thanks also to the German Industry and Commerce Office Qatar and German Business Council Qatar for their support in bringing this forum together, and to JW Marriott Marquis City Center Doha for their superb hospitality and for hosting us so well.

And, as always, thank you to our members for supporting our industry-specific programme and for sharing these opportunities with the appropriate colleagues within their organisations. Having the right people in the room is an important part of ensuring our events deliver meaningful value for member businesses.

This is an important part of the BCCQ programme as we continue to develop focused, sector-specific events alongside our wider business calendar, responding to the issues and opportunities that matter to our members.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the morning.
