NEW AIRPORT, MARINAS, GOLF CLUBS & CABLE CARS - the TRNC is receiving major new upgrades 👏 Due to the huge increases in tourism, Deputy Prime Minister Fikri Ataoğlu has announced several infrastructure projects to help develop the TRNC tourism industry:
NEW ERCAN AIRPORT ✈️ - Construction is nearly complete. The airport has a passenger circulation of 5 million passengers a year, fitted with the latest technology & includes 30 airplane parking spaces (6 times more than the current Ercan).
YACHT PORTS 🛥️ - The Mağusa marina is being tended to whilst the Girne Antique Yacht Harbour is being extended. An area is being created where small yachts can dock on the Gaziveren side. 200-300 more yachts will be able to dock as a result - increasing employment & trade as well.
GOLF COURSES ⛳️ - 4-5 golf courses are being planned with 3 specifically in the Bafra region. This is an aim to bring more sports tourism into the country.
CABLE CARS 🚡 - The first project will be a cable car in the Girne district to the Central Tender Commission whilst a second one will be located at St Hilarion Castle.
